[NFL] Kalu tears ACL, will miss year

The season is over before it started for defensive end N.D. Kalu. He suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Tuesday morning and will undergo season-ending surgery.

No specifics have been determined as to when Kalu will have surgery.

Sucks for the eagles. He was really going to stand out this year i think with the freak in there. Also sucks to lose someone like this in training camp...

"His foot got caught in the grass and he just twisted it," said Reid, describing what happened to Kalu. "That's one of those things during camp. Things happen. You have to work your way through it."

he didnt do well last year because of the lack of backups and having to over-play.

Oh well, we have Ike Reese as his backup so not a huge loss. I am more concerned that Buckhalter is out for the season. I was one of those people who did not want to get rid of Duce Staley, but oh well. The passing game should take away from some of the running game so perhaps that can compensate for Buckhalter's loss.
