Case Fans: 4x Noctua 800RPM, one also on HR-03 on GFX card

Average Room Temp: 24C

CPU Temp idle: 28C

CPU Temp load: 46-50C

Average Room Temp: 27C

CPU Temp idle: 31C

CPU Temp load: 39-50C

Sounds low but checked and double checked and yep thats correct.

It's running so hot that 95% of the time, the speedstep lowers the processor speed at 1 or 1.3ghz. Sucks.

Impossible.

Don't use Speedfan or a similar program. Get the readings from the BIOS :)

Nah, I'm not using Speedfan. Speedstep is Intel's technology to lower mobile cpu speed when needed, because they know how hot they can get.

I can't see the temperature within the bios and I'm using HWMonitor (from the same company that makes cpu-z) http://www.cpuid.com/

I hope you're right and the program is wrong. But when I firstly bought the laptop, it did power off violently when I was doing cpu-intense stuff and wouldn't turn back on unless the temperature dropped or 5 minutes or so passed. HP was aware of the problem on 93xx series and published a bios update that disabled the thermal security poweroff. Now the laptop can get really really hot and won't poweroff. Maybe the cpu will melt one day, who knows.

Oh, it can reach 97C only for half a second and then cpu drops frequency to 1ghz and temperature drops at 87C and stays there (86-87). I think that before the bios update, the computer powered off when it exceeded 90C.

THe program has to be wrong there's no way it can be that hot!

And that's after I elevated my laptop 2 inches or so and let it stand there for about an hour without doing any work. I lifted the computer and let it stand on four 25-DVDR Spindles, the desk isn't blocking the airflow, and it's much cooler now.

Heatsink: Zalman CNPS9700

Case: Cooler Master RC-690-KKN1-GP

Case Fans: 4x Cooler Master 120MM (2x Left, 1x Rear, 1x Front), 2x Antec 120MM (1x Bottom, 1x Top) It's actually fairly quiet for that many fans. There are spaces for 2 more fans (1x 120mm Top, 1x 80MM Right, behind the CPU)

Average Room Temp: 22C

CPU Temp idle: 22C

CPU Temp load: 43C

And that's after I elevated my laptop 2 inches or so and let it stand there for about an hour without doing any work. I lifted the computer and let it stand on four 25-DVDR Spindles, the desk isn't blocking the airflow, and it's much cooler now.

I think I have to get one of those notebook coolers.

That is crazy. I have an hp dv6000t and it gets pretty hot (up to 70-80C under load) but it usually shuts itself after hovering around 80C. I'm using a laptop cooler (these things aren't that great) and used some compressed air and now it only get up to 60-70C under load.

Avg Room Temp: No idea. Pretty average to warm I guess.

CPU Temp (Idle / stress test): 24/25C (With CoolnQuiet Enabled) - 39C Max (Using Heavyload for 10 minutes)
