mordecai
How can I uninstall WMP10? It isn't playing a file that WMP9 played just this morning. WMP10 is not in the Add/Remove Programs. 0 bazcook
How odd. Not in 'Add or Remove'? I downloaded and installed WMP 10 today, but then had problems with it not letting go of the DVD in File Types (no matter how many times I unchecked | Apply) so I decided to cut my losses and return to WMP 9. WMP was in 'Add or Remove' so I used that, but then I also used System Restore to before the installation. I used the morning's System Checkpoint, but WMP also set one before its installation. I wonder if just a straightforward System Restore would work? Always the danger of little bits not letting go, but...? 0 dougkinzinger
uninstall 10 then download the installer for 9 and do that :) Way to read the thread, speed. There is no "uninstall" for WMP10. Simply reinstall Windows XP SP2. Doing so will revert you back to WMP9. 0 Preppy Veteran Posted September 3, 2004 Veteran Share Posted September 3, 2004 couldn't you just download 9 and install over 10? No. You don't need to reinstall WMP9 either - as part of WMP10's rollback, it automatically reconfigures your previous version of WMP (WMP9 or WMP8) correctly for you. As noted in the thread already, the rollback is indeed there and should work fine. It's just under "Show Updates" in XPSP2 in the Add/Remove Program control panel. 0 dougkinzinger
Way to roll your eyes when you were wrong Uh, no, rather, you've been "owned". Reinstalling Service Pack 2 DOES revert back to WMP9. There are other options, however. Who was "owned" now? Nice try, but stick with pushing kids into lockers at your junior high. 0 Bearded Kirklander
Did you do a System Restore or Norton Ghost backup before you installed the new app? If you did, you should be able to do a full roll-back.
