UT2004 Patch 3321 (Beta) Changelog

Recommended Posts

SP2 conflict? didn't know of any problems. In the 3321 updates is a fix called:

- UT2K4 works with WinXP SP2 firewall

So maybe that's what you're after.

If not, then it's a case of reinstalling the game (maybe a DirectX 9.0c problem occured during installation of SP2, because UT2004 is based upon the DX API's).

I had DX9.0c before I got SP2 and it worked fine. My problem is. When I start the game I cannot pass the intro movies (not that I really care that much) then I can navigate the menu to start a game but when I get in a game nothing works. It's like my keyboard and mouse gets unplugged. I can't exit the game so I ALT+TAB to get to windows so I can kill the game but then the PC reboots when I try. I've tried different drivers beta and WHQL. It only started after installing SP2.

That's unusual. I have DirectX 9.0c, WinXP-SP2, WHQL Drivers (Nvidia 61.77). Maybe if you uninstall the game (and then manually remove ALL files left over in the UT2004 directory). Reinstall the game, apply the latest patch and see if that helps.

Because there were only 5 minor updates in this patch, it's possible that it could be the final version. But this is unconfirmed, as soon as it becomes official then I'll post here & BPN the information.

The patch sorted out the XP-SP2 problem.

New Information (From Epic)

The patch will be released very soon. The bonuspack, with the new vehicles, maps, and characters, will be released shortly after UT2004 ECE is available in stores, which should be sometime late in September.

Thanks for all the great info, Epic has been so good at improving UT, they make it better it better all the time. I've tried to submit a bug in the past that I doubt they know about. Here is my best description of it:

In the Configure Controls list you can bind the Scoreboard to appear only when you hold the button down or you can bind it to toggle (Hit the key once for it to appear, hit it again for it to go away) I have tried to bind the Scoreboard to the TAB key (As it is in most FPS games, instead of F1) and I have it set to HOLD down the key to view it and when you release the key it goes away. The bind itself works fine. However sometimes in game when I'm viewing the Scoreboard and still walking around it will get "Stuck" up on the screen. The only way to make it disappear is to hit the ESC key, nothing else will work, including hitting the TAB key again. This has been a bug since the original version of the game and has not worked since. Maybe you can e-mail your contact about this. Thanks again for the change log on the new patch. Very good stuff coming our way!

I've also PMed you this information DjmUK.

*About the SP2 Issues, I haven't had any issues. The Windows XP 2 Firewall notice popped up under the game but I tabbed out and unblocked UT2K4 so it can still go online. Its been working fine for me in offline and online play.

Hehe, that's as old as the UE2.0 engine! ;)

Were not allowed to post links to websites, so I'm posting to a link in Neowin. I don't know who sent it to FilePlant but I'm glad it wasn't me.

Anyways, the final will be announced soon :)

you should look in the mirror ######. im the one who looked for a direct link so you could all download without waiting 2 days or paying.

Your just a troll is all. Nothing but complaints, about Valve, about Fileplanet, you always find something to complain about. The lines on FP is only a few hours max, is that so hard to wait or are you really that impatient?

*Goes back to his FilePlanet subscription that everyone seems to think is soooo expensive.* Well guess what people, you run a site as large as FilePlanet with the exclusives it has and I'd like to see you run servers across the world with no waiting and fast speeds.

    • When will the Photos app be updated to remember the window size and position when reopened? They addressed this issue in a 2024 version of the app (though I can't recall the build number). Unfortunately, after that specific version, the problem persists! Please prioritise this fix in your K2 schedule. Additionally, the Snipping Tool has lost the ability to capture the Windows Taskbar starting from the 2024 version!
    • Same, never saw it on Android or iOS. Guess only some people got it *shrugs*
