This isn't the first time this has happened...but last night was one of those rare nights where I had a need to have more than 10 tabs open and Firefox just decided it was going to crash. Not only that, but the next time I click on the FF shortcut, all my themes, extensions, bookmarks and saved passwords etc are completely and utterly gone. Gone from Firefox, gone from my actual harddrive....just gone. I've had this happen 3 times before this. I really would like to know what compels a browsers to revert itself back to how it was the minute you finished installing it after it has a simple crash.

Maybe it corrupted all your user files and settings, or your user account so it had to create a new one.

Well then give it corruption protection or some ****, I don't know, but what I do know is that they really should fix this, I don't think I've ever had a program pull something as retarded as this on me.

Try looking in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Pheonix

and:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Pheonix

See what the names of the profiles are in there deleteing and backing-up ones and exploring the files like themes and bookmarks...Also search your ENTIRE pc for all of the files named "bookmarks.html" or .htm and open them all to see if any are of your original bookmarks. I think you experienced the problem I had when Firefox crashed Firefox.exe stays open and it creates a new profile...Let me know if you need any help :)

Thanks for the help but I created a bookmark backup earlier to email to myself for use at school, I only know of two links I need to add to it. Reinstalled my extensions.

And oh yeah, 100$ to the first person that can show me where in this thread before this post I said I had any interest in switching browsers.

yes, it likes men, obviously. grow up and find more mature ways to express yourself

thread title edited

Because using a word that others cannot accept has more than one meaning is far less mature than saying something more socially acceptable...such as 'Firefox is retarded' Yep, we really should learn to respect others and not use words that might offend them, huh? ;)

    • I noticed this was already happening within my organization; my teams location will change between remote and on-site without me having to do anything. Is it possible this is live already for select customers?
    • I wonder what it will show when I'm plugged in with my ethernet cable at home and not using WiFi.
    • While LibreOffice is not pleased to see a new competitor, they are absolutely correct in stating that Euro-Office using a MS file standard as a default is not being truly "European." Using a MS standard just means Euro-Office is just a "bastardized MS Office Suite." (Wasn't a major purpose of Euro-Office was to get away from being captive and enslaved to MS's Office Suite??)
    • Microsoft continues its long-term policy of spying on their users--despite vehement denials. That feature will be disabled (or removed) either "elegantly" with MS providing a true way to disable it, or "quick and dirty" via a third-party who WILL come up with a way to disable it. Your choice MS...
