What GPS device do you have? Is it a GPS locator you have to connect to a portable computer or a device by itself?

And, how has the GPS device HELPED you in your life? Have you ever almost gotten lost, and GPS find your way?

I got Streets & Trips 2005 W/ GPS Locator last week for $80 :D I hope that's the LOWEST price for a long time!

I have Garmin iQue 3600. GPS is very important for me when I have to go out and drive. Whenever my car low on GAS, I know exactly where to find the GAS station nearby, when I need cash I know where to find an ATM, when I struck in the traffic jam I'm not afraid to drive into the small road which can bypass those traffic. I never worry about I'm getting lost even I just drove in an unknown town which I have never been before.... It give me the totally confident when I'm on the road. :p

I have a GPS attached to my iPaq. It's a navman 3450 and my iPaq is a 3950. I use it primarily for flying... The plane I use already has a Garmin GPS installed... so I use it mainly for following of my flight plan. The Garmin is used for the real navigation. I love it... get in the plane, turn it on before pre-flight... and a minute or so later I have a signal. The Garmin sometimes is slower than my iPaq! Software wise I use TomTom 2 for when I'm on the road... in the skies I use Jeppsen. Though.... I have to admit the Garmin is sexier:

my GPS device is called the Human brain. Got it as a gift when I was born. Comes with a lifetime warranty, id recommend it.

I use TomTom Navigator 3 on my iPaq - very useful, it takes the stress out of driving in unfamiliar areas.

And that is only if the 911 center your contacting is e911 ready. It seems only 20% of the nation's 911 calling centers are currently e911 capable.
