I have a D-Link DI-624 Airplus Xtreme G Wireless Router.

I have 2 desktops connected directly to the router with cables, and my wife connects downstairs on her laptop through the wireless connection.

I recently purchased Xbox Live, and the Xbox Wireless Adapter.

Whenever I connect to Xbox Live it completely kills my wifes connection downstairs.

I have to unplug the Xbox Adapter and go downstairs and refresh her connection for it to work again.

I just used the Installation Wizard when I setup the router, because I really had no clue what all the jibba jabba meant.

Can someone be so kind as to help me with this?

I hope I can have more than one piece of hardware connected wirelessly.

You should be able to. When you plug in the XBOX adapter, does it connect to the live! service?

Also, you say you just used the installation wizard... did you secure your setup at all? If you just went through the steps, I recommend reading up on WiFi security and implementing a few security measures.

Hi,

Yes. The Xbox Live fires right up, but then when my wife trys to access the net downstairs her connection won't work.

I'll look into some security. Is it really necessary out in the country though? There aren't but a handful of houses near me.

set static addresses and manually enter the WPA or WEP key. could be a DHCP problem. also if you use the windows default DHCP though the windoiws networking wizard it gives you the wrong IPs all together and generates its own DHCP server. also the wirless router could have changed its WEP or WPA key and the Xbox got it but your wife didnt.
