Tha1
When I try to change the default exe icon in Opera ver. 7.54 with Reshacker, it gives me this message: "This file has a non-standard resource layout... It has probably been compressed with an "EXE compressor". ". How can I get over this message? Do I have to use another prog to change the icon or it's not possible to change it at all? Brandon
that message is checking something (maybe the hash, maybe the size in bytes) so when it doesnt match the known, it will spit that out at you Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/215800-customizing-opera-w-reshacker/#findComment-584532452 Share on other sites

porcelain cruise
The main Opera .exe file is actually compressed. Reshacker can only handle uncompressed executables. You will have to find a decompressor for it - but you will need to find out what format the .exe was compressed in first. Opera has some user forums at http://my.opera.com - it's quite likely that the compression format of the .exe has been discussed there at some stage. krmathis
Its compressed with ASPack, but I dont know of a suitable decompressor. Probably against the Opera EULA to tamper with the executables as well! Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/215800-customizing-opera-w-reshacker/#findComment-584533679 Share on other sites
porcelain cruise
Actually solaris, that's a good point. Somewhere in there would almost certainly be a section about not reverse engineering the program. It's usually onmly the open source software that allows you to do this.
