[MLB] Texas Rangers Player throws chair at fans

Recommended Posts

 I wish I was hit by the chair... that lady who was bloody and had a broken nose will probably be a millionaire soon. I bet lawyers from all over the country have been trying to get a hold of her :).

Members of the Texas Rangers are restrained by security following the skirmish with the crowd.

Texas reliever Doug Brocail was seen screaming at a male fan, and the pitcher had to be restrained by his teammates and bullpen coach Mark Connor. Others also had to be held back.

"Tonight, it went over the line," Rangers manager Buck Showalter said. "It was a real break from the normal trash you hear from fans. We've had problems about every time we've come here."

I can't believe the manager was trying to make excuses for the actions of his players.

And I also can't believe that Francisco was not arrested for assault/battery. Seems that the law does not effect celeberities.

we don't know what was said from the fans to the players. so, he might be correct.

give it a day or two before anyone is charged. the police have to sort out everything first.

I don't really give a damn about how much the fans were taunting or name-calling; physical violence is inexcusable unless its self defense. These guys are paid millions to play the game, so you'd think that they could afford some anger management classes. Or at least see a psychologist.

agreed. but considering mlb did nothing in regards to alomar spitting on an umpire...

they are humans just like us. what would you do if someone is sitting there drunk and calling you names? Are you going to sit there and let them call you names or are you going to make them be quiet?

I quit using physical violence after maturing pass the age of 13. If a drunk person was calling me names, I'd just deal with it or leave the situation.

I would say how much you make a year? Nice Nissan Sentra...how you like my benzo biatch? Tell yo mom she can come clean my floor after she finishes mowin my yard.

Then I'd go out and buy myself a new Mercedes to feel better about my over the top ego.

haha, good stuff :)

well he's been charged at least :D

Texas reliever Frank Francisco was arrested Tuesday morning on a charge of aggravated battery after he threw a chair into the right-field box seats and hit two spectators in the head during Monday night's loss to the Oakland Athletics (news).

One of the fans, an unidentified woman, was bloodied and her nose was broken.

If I hit everybody with a chair that's called me names then I'd have a bloody long rap sheet.

And, as the drunk driving commercials says, there's no chicks in jail...

Oakland fans are known to be some of the rudest and harshest and baseball (towards other teams, I mean, obviously). I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.

The fans shouldn't have been yelling at the players to begin with. Should he have thrown the chair? No, absolutely not. But the fans should learn some respect.

I agree, although throwing a chair into the stands is not acceptable....oakland fans are terrible.

Carl evertt(CWS, dh) had said in the newspapers that a cellphone struck his head during a game at oakland, thrown by a fan.

    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • I have disabled it, but the app is still taking space. I have a Mac and it is only possible to disable Ai on that, but I think that bit does get rid of the AI components after a while. What we are told is that we agree to all this when we use the devices as it is in the end user agreements, their software, they can do what they like. I doubt that any bill will happen in the U.S, the government there are in league with big tech firms. The E.U maybe, they seem to have some guts when it comes to tech companies. The U.K is not in the E.U, but some things still affect us. Our government is as gutless when it comes to tech companies as the U.s government.
