Yeah, it'll work just fine. Apple key is the Windows key. All the keyboards from the BnW G3 and original iMac on up should work. They just didn't have a "del" key, which was a big pain when you use it to enter the bios setup routinue, kill tasks in 9x, or get the NT security dialog ;)

Edit: Woot, we just replied to a bannee... sweer.

Yup, I've done it myself -- but it does confuse me because of the icongraphy on some of the keys. They're obviously Mac-centric. ik001, mind if I ask you why you're getting an Apple keyboard for your PC? Are you doing emulation or some such thing?

Cephas: Yes, I agree. It's sooo dumb. (And it takes a lot for me to say something like that! :) )Why do they continue to persist with one-button mice in this day and age? Even Mac OS X is full of context-sensitive menus and the options exist for a scroll wheel and sidebar buttons inside Panther, so why does Apple continue to chug these mice out? If most of the world -- meaning Windows users -- can get along fine with many-buttoned mice for the numerous digits on their hands, I see why it can't be done on Mac. It's very expensive to have to swap the default mouse for a new Microsoft or Logitech USB one, and rather inefficient too.

I like the way the mac keyboard looks. There is no pc keyboard quite like it. It even looks better than the DiNovo.

Yeah, that's why I got mine. It was the one with the nicest keys too, I felt right at home when I tried it out at the store so I bought it. All the keys felt "just right", and it looks awesome too.

I placed a Red Cathode behind it and since the frame is clear the entire frame glows red. :p

(I did it only temporarily, I don't like bright glowing computers anymore.) ;)

I got myself an apple keyboard after reading this thread. Here is a keyboard mapping that should help out in windows XP. So I switched the apple key with alt(option) on both sides. Also mapped F14 - F16 to print screen, scroll lock and break.

Just copy the following to a file with extension .reg and merge it into your registry

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]
"Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,08,00,00,00,37,E0,65,00,46,00,66,00,46,E0,67,00,5B,E0,38,00,38,00,5B,E0,5C,E0,38,E0,38,E0,5C,E0,00,00,00,00

Also if someone knows the scancodes for "HELP" and "CLEAR", I can remap those to "INSERT" and "NUM LOCK" too.
