It must have happened to someone else.

I've seen that toolbar on a few computers before. I've also successfully removed it with a combination of Ad-Aware, Spybot, HiJackThis, and AVG Antivirus (all with the most current definitions of course). I'm not sure what you're doing wrong though to allow it to keep showing up.

Try rebooting the machine and running HiJackThis before you remove anything with any of the other programs. And then post the log again.

Hello

Try this link and Read it and see if this works.  http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t...10&page=1&pp=15 It worked for my Uncle and after he did it. It never came back. I hope this works for you.

Sorry this will not work for you. I thought I read search bar but it was toolbar.

Sorry.

my god all these IE users here and not one has given this poor chap the right advise.

It may not be as hard as you think, first check Add/Remove programs list for a tool/search bar. If there is one uninstall it.

Then check this folder: C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files

Right click each item and check its properties. Any which have tool or search bar right click it and remove. This should sort you out.

Okay, here's the thing. I got that at a client's place not long ago. Someone installed Messenger Plus! without reading through the installer. :p

Just uninstall Messenger plus! and read through the uninstaller. It should remove the bar with it. IF IT DOESN'T, just repeat what the people said a tad higher. After, reinstall messenger plus BUT BY READING THE INSTALLER and choose not to install the sponsor program.

That should fix it.

    • Supply and demand. Competition is a good thing.
    • For the cost of popping Linux on a minipc and attaching it to the back of a monitor, it essentially is a Mac, but 1/10th of the cost. My aunt and uncle were just in town seeing her and they couldn't believe they weren't using Windows. I've ordered them the same setup my mom has and they couldn't be happier. My aunt runs a really old Windows 7 laptop that was upgraded to Windows 10 that is giving out, so a replacement cost of $389 total vs $600 or more and she was sold.

    • Yeah, as a general rule I prefer standard XBox-like controllers that work like usual out-of-the-box. additional software tends to be overkill. p.s. even my 8BitDo Ultimate 2C wired, while I had to tweak something (setup a udev rule) on Linux for it to work 'out-of-the-box' (which is required for Xinput mode to work in kernels prior to 6.12), I can slightly tweak a small amount of additional buttons/features on the controller itself, no software needed.
