Mark, what's with the baghira theme?! Haven't you seen the coolness of plastik?

I actually like the use of color for window function, rather than the traditional "X", underbar, etc. It is one of my few indulgences for decoration since leaving KDE for Fluxbox.

Though, plastik is cool. ;)

help please?

Do you use an external router/firewall device or does the ADSL modem connect directly to your computer and require ADSL software to connect?

I assume it must be the latter, although I've never actually run linux with software-based ADSL. I'm sure someone can help though.

On a non-directly related to Linux note.... Get a router/firewall!

I do have a router... Idunno why it doesnt connect... on the windows side ... I have to connect manually as well... its a DSL line.. I have to go connect > Bell Sympatico Access Manager (my ISP)

I remember in Knoppix there was a lil program that would let u set up ur connection ... here I dunno I've been lookin for it for the past 2 days

There is no need to run Access Mangler if you have an external firewall/router device. Configure the router for your correct Bell username and password and you won't need to configure Windows or Linux. It will probably improve the performance of your PC as you can uninstall Access Mangler and free up some resources.

Easy you only have to open a browser and connect to your router adress usualy 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 you enter the needed password (default usualy being admin ) and you look around a bit you have to configure you router for pppoe connection as your using sympatico crappy setup then you input your sympatico user name starting with b***** and you pass ... save everything and voila routeur sett?

for god sake change the router password and update it's firmware if you can it's important

hmm doesnt wor... it syas page cannot be found... I have had this before too thats wyh I have actualyl been using hte Symapatico Access Manager... I dunno how to chagne it... I actually posted a thread bout my router not going to that page but no help :(

so can someone help me now?
