How do you launch your Apps?

QuickSilver = Free

LaunchBar = Not Free. You can use it but you'll have to download a new beta version every 2,3 weeks.

So I guess QuickSilver wins. But then again, even if LaunchBar were free, I'd still pick QS over it. ;)

LaunchBar just seems to respond a bit quicker (read: no wait between hitting cmd-space and typing my app name or whatever)

but i'm getting another 512mb of ram for my powerbook this week, so qs could very well speed up after that...

Funny many of you mention 'performance' issues with QS, personally i find it really snappy, i have no quarms - The Eye candy merely a bonus! :D

Maybe your specs have something to do with it, just a thought. :p

im going to check out this quicksilver...

and to answer the question, i just use the dock... before OS X there was an app called A Dock (well it is still around and I still use it sometimes) that I just got so used to the idea I figured why change... I keep my dock nice and small with no magnification and way to many apps...

Windows Key > Pick one from list. If it's not there, then I go into the My Programs menu.

QuickSilver responds very nice on my 900mhz G3, I used launchbar for a while and switched to quicksilver once I tried it.

You can disable the useless effects and turn off loading all image previews and it will be even faster.

As of right now I ditched the finder and went to the Silver-Side. :D

I'm trying out Lauchbar and I think it rocks! It's much better than Quicksilver IMO

You have more apps in your dock then I have on my system.

Well, I see myself as a very simple man. I use Y'z dock to get to the places I need. And as you can see, I am a very busy person. I like to keep things organized using the spacers. Very nice. This screen was taken in the highest resolution my gfx card could handle -- 1280x1024 and the STILL didn't fit to be comfortably viewable. So when you look at this, save it and view it in Photoshop or something of that sort. ;)

Btw, there are 98 app shortcuts there and 1 folder.

I created a folder called "My Applications" in my home folder, then created the following folders inside it:

Communications

Games

Office

Professional

School

Utilities

I created aliases of the programs I use often or find important and placed them inside their appropriate folder.

I then dragged that folder to the dock, so everytime I click and hold on it I get a nice menu with all my applications properly classified.

XD Yeah, that's ONE way. Never noticed how many ways there were o_O
