aps
I am trying to use AutoStreamer (version 1.0.2900) to make a slipstreamed SP2 disc. On the second window of AutoStreamer there are spaces for Windows CD Drive which comes up automatically filled in when I put in my XP HomeSP1 disc. THE NEXT SPACE IS FOR THE SERVICE PACK fILE. On the example instructions it shows "ystems\Microsoft Windows\WINXP2_EN-RC2.exe." I just do know or understand what to put into this space. I have SP2 on my computer and also have the SP2 Disc. Can someone help me figure this out? This is my first post so if I am in the wrong forum just kindly direct me. Thanks you. goddi
I have created an Autostreaming CD. It works but progresses to the "Installing Network" and then just does not continue. The informational screens continue to change and the dots in the lower right hand corner continue to show it is 'working' but nothing happens. I have tried it several times. Even left if running overnight. But each time it just does not continue to work. Can someone tell me what might be happening. I am trying to update my Win XP SP1 to SP2. I have not been able to do the update in the normal way, using Windows Updates. It always fails. So I am trying this method, but it also fails. Other problems I am having with with Windows Updates is that the Security update KB914798 also always fails to install. Also, I get a Windows error message when I click on System Restore when trying to make a Restore Point. Any ideas??? Thanks... Copy the file XPSP2.exe from the SP2 CD into a suitable folder on your hard drive, and in that space type in the path to the file. For example, if you created a folder in C:\ called XPSP2 and copied XPSP2.exe into that folder, you would type C:\XPSP2\XPSP2.exe Alternatively, download the SP2 installation file WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe (266MB) from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en (don't worry about the title of the download page, it is the one you need). and point to it instead of XPSP2.exe. BTW the latest version of Autostreamer is 1.0.33, which you can download from https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=223562 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/224289-slipstreaming-sp2-using-autostreamer/#findComment-588744375 Share on other sites
