Options for where to open URLs from other applications (reuse tab, new tab, new window) etc were added to the aviary branch...when that build is released I will post a link to it because I know a lot of people have been waiting for these options. So now TBE and TBP are no longer needed for just the options for this...of course you can still use TBE and TBP for other options like session saver and other things.

EDIT: Its not just URLs from other apps either...thats just what the bug was filed as.

BUG# 172962

I highly recommend uninstalling your older version first, no need to delete your profile though.

Ignore my post below!!

Can you say "finally"! The number of people that I see asking how to use tabbed browsing, in a browser that advertisers it as one of it's main features, is ridiculous.

Edit: works great.

I know what you mean. This is great, I assume this will make it into the 1.0 final?

Yes this is in the aviary branch, which 1.0 will be built off. can't remember if i posted this already but there is also a patch to make javascript window.open scripts open in a tab or whereever you want...not too sure when that is gonna be checked in. And also the "bug" was blocking fixes for about 12 other bugs depending on this fix :)

EDIT: Damn that was fast...mac-only native hookup of external URL control patch was just submitted, should be in tomorrows or many even a later todays build as long as it gets approved

Ok, I have question.. is the avery the one that Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040928 Firefox/0.10 (bangbang023) is built off from? I did read in his thread, but I couldn't find where it said, maybe I missed it I dunno.. sorry if I did. Or if not.. where can we get this build? I'm excited about this.. sorry If I'm not making sense.

edit: sorry I found it.. right under his (bangbang023) sig.. so it is.

    • One reason it might be running hotter is dust build up within the cooling or perhaps the paste has dried out. You could always try repasting your old GPU and cleaning the cooler. Your experience in Linux will be much better with an AMD GPU; the performance in gaming is much closer to Windows than nVidia would be. I personally think on Windows, AMD drivers are junk.
    • I reviewed it back in March, but I didn't have a 5070 at the time https://www.neowin.net/reviews/amd-rx-9070-review-vs-rtx-5070-4070-and-rx-9070-xt-7800-xt--just-good-enough/ When I reviewed the 9070 I did have a 5070 to compare it against, so the scores are there for the 9070 XT. it outperforms the 5070 in raster, and is barely neck and neck in Ray Tracing. So it's better than a 5070 in everything but Ray Tracing where it is neck and neck, or just under. To be honest, the uplift from 3080 when it was new to the 9070 XT is not as great a step up. If you can find a used 4080 Super for around the same money, you would probably be better off, but if you only want to buy new then the 16GB 9070 XT is the best value for money in its category.
    • I really hope the author's health is ok. Squirreling away a official backup of this software. Looks like the internet archive already cached a copy as well - https://web.archive.org/web/20...ldbit-soft.fi/software.html
    • AMD is supported out of the box in linux because of their open source driver. Nvidia does not. All my systems are amd and all of them work nicely on linux arch without doing anything.
    • Never had a problem with TPM and started using that many years ago in Win10. Through several motherboards and OS versions, it just does what it does without complaint. My games library doesn't even know it's there. Secure boot does a lot more than support anti-cheat, as it came along long before anti-cheat software. I've used it religiously since before I started using TPM, and I always liked it for being able to nullify virus contagions that try their best to come in underneath the firmware during boot, so that the OS doesn't see them, etc. That is its purpose, imo. I'll never understand why people who elect to use another OS feel compelled to run down Windows... I guess they need to do that to feel secure about their choices? I run Windows because it supports all the software (including games) natively that I want to buy, and I've never had to run down another OS to make me feel better about it. (Although it's certainly possible to do that, of course...) Win10 is on a ventilator atm, and Win11 is very close to being free, and I finally got to stop running StartAllBack as I moved to the Experimental/Dev channel and my 26300.8553 build supports the moveable taskbar and it's running fine at the top of the screen! Finally, my last major dislike of Win11 is being rectified! So, I'm not at all surprised to see Win11's share of the Steam survey hitting 70%.
