Final Fantasy Music

I was watching G4 the other day and they had an "Icons" episode about Nobuo Uematsu. They were talking about Dear Friend near the end and it intrigued me enough to get the Final Fantasy X album to check it out. For someone who is very picky about his music and focuses more on lyrics than anything else, I am completely blown away. This guy is a genius. Some of the songs like "Enemy Battle" are a little cheesy but there are some really powerful tracks that speak without talking and it's truely amazing. I definitely want to give a quick recommendation to people to check it out in your free time.

I love Final Fantasy music Nobuo Uematsu is a genius. 10 was a good sound track but I think 4 5 6 were the best ones definitely worth checking out.

I fell in love with ff7 soundtrack and 10 had a good soundtrack also. I love ff7 background sound when your exploring in the fields.

My favorite all around music would have to be FF6 (3 in US). Personal fav is Cyan's Theme. But 16bit SNES music can only be so good...

FF7 has some awesome music as well. Final Boss fight was so much cooler with that music going on.

jects(sp ? ) theme is bad ass and the gentle piano playing of the start ffx theme is nice :)

Nothing beats the FF7 soundtrack for me.

It's been so long since I played FFX I forget what it's like, come to think of it, I still haven't finished that game. :pinch:

ALL of the games have amazing music, even the original NES games (I-III JP) had great music.

I'd love a re-mastered music collection from the early nes/snes series of games, that would be great.

Nobuo Uematsu put togahter a rock band called The Black Mages they do rock versions of the many battle themes in Final Fantasy games everyone should check it out its pretty sweet.

I used to have almost every soundtrack that was released up to ff 7 until my cd's got stolen. :cry:

Ohhhh Final Fantasy music, i have a lot of them and i love them all. I personally like VIII and VI (III) :D

Nobuo Umatsu as it may or may not suprise you has actually been dubbed at one point in the time the "John Williams" of video game soundtracks. In fact all the earlier 16 bit soundtracks that he has worked on have had the luxury of being re-masterd and performed by some as great as the london phil-harmonic. He truely is a musical genous in his own right, and IMHO worth of being exonerated with as much glroy as those such as JS Bach and Beethovan.

FFIX's Melodies of Life was very good. One of the best game vocal themes so far I think.

Anime and game music rock in general though :)
