greg098
hello. i have a really strange problem. Everytime i open winzip, my printer starts printing and winzip doesnt open. I have NO IDEA why it does it. ive restarted and all. Its only been happening since last night, after i installed ACD See 7.0...maybe that done it? Anyone know how i can fix this? It even does it when i use the XP Compression feature. Winrar works fine tho. greg098
winrar is sooo ugly...when is foood releasing the icons patch for it? it seems like FOREVER Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/224717-when-i-open-winzip/#findComment-584655323 Share on other sites
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted October 1, 2004 Veteran Share Posted October 1, 2004 FOOOD isn't releasing a icon pack, anyway, although a peice of software like look like crap, you shouldnt judge it by that, you should judge it by how powerful it is, WinRAR beats WinZIP hands down in that regard. CAH
1. Invoke System Restore to undo whatever the newly installed program did. 2. Update the print driver (for your model) 3. Scan for any possible viruses Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/224717-when-i-open-winzip/#findComment-584656786 Share on other sites

dreamz Veteran Posted October 1, 2004 Veteran Share Posted October 1, 2004 you don't even need winzip on xp. zipping is already incorporated. anyways, check the file properties. The_Decryptor Veteran Posted October 1, 2004 Veteran Share Posted October 1, 2004 i dont think that is FOOOD's pack, i think it's just SentientPC's pack Edit: Yep, i was right, FOOOD's page says it all. Ridgeburner
I have to agree, Winrar is way too slow when uncompressing files that i've experienced, nothing at all wrong with Winzip IMO. It's such a familiar interface for me personally, that it'd be taking away part of my life if I stopped using it  Winzip = .ZIP Winrar = everything else Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/224717-when-i-open-winzip/#findComment-584656842 Share on other sites

The software to patch WinRAR is by SentientPC, but the icons are by FOOOD. That's clear on the link I posted. It's just a decompressor program, it's not like you're gonna stare at that thing for ages anyway. and imo it's heaps easier to just right click and select decompress to a folder.
