How to copy a folder in MS-DOS?

Hi All..

I would like to enquire about the DOS command to copy a folder with all its contents from a folder (or a drive) to another..

I tried ((copy /?)) but It did not help much!

yu use xcopy a: b: /s

Use Xcopy.

For example "xcopy C:\1234 D:\abcd /s" will copy all contents from C:\1234 to D:\abcd including subdirectories

copy "folder_name" destination\folder_name

so... a folder called My Stuff on C:\, needs to copy to D:\

copy "My Stuff" d:\MyStuff

I don't remember how to use spaces in folder names, but you can always rename them later.

it didn't work :(

this is what I tried:

xcopy d:\test\test1 d:\test\test2 /s

and the folders inside (d:\test\test1) were not copied to (d:\test\test2)..

both are existing folders with subfolders inside test1..

I have also tried

copy "test1" d:\test\test2

didn't work..

if the test1 folder is empty then leave the /s off the end

so try just

xcopy d:\test\test1 d:\test\test2

I did.. and it worked :)

the command is:

xcopy d:\test\test1 d:\test\test2 /e

/e copies everything including empty subfolders

/s copies everything including subfolders.. but not the empty ones..
