Great first post... Way to make a first impression

Anyway, very well done (Y). I don't understand why Valve doesn't want their stuff on there; you've done such a great job that it could improve their image ;)

They just don't want someone going around saying "OMG I HVAE TEH REEL CVR ART OMG WTF LOL!!!1!!!1one" and then they have to do 'damage control'

Plus people would go "The authenticy(sp?) is on the image so it MUST be real"

Anyways, I really hope valve pays my old buddy and uses his artwork. Cause it would be a smart choice in the end. That stuff is dead sexy.

Yeah. If all of their logo's and trademarks are on it, people think it was made by then, when it really wasn't. I respect that, so I took them off.

Cryptic_Night, I wish they would hire me on as a graphic designer... or even VuG... because we all know how much everyone loves VuG. lol.

Work for the guy who's making Windows "Florida" in the W.I.P section of Customizing Windows.

LOL... off topic much?

Anyhow... I should be finished making the HL2 CD Labels pretty soon. I just have to wait for my new hard drive. :pinch:

Yes...Back on Topic.....

How many CD covers would you have to make. And for an idea....make it like a scrolling picture. So when you place all the CDs down on the table in a row it forms the big piccture.

Another Idea: Place them in the order of the spelling "HL:2 CS:S" if it was 6 CD's. So when they put the CD's in order, you get a cool image like thingy.

Just ideas.

The game was already confirmed to have six CDs, or one DVD. I'm not so sure about the scrolling picture idea, as that would be somewhat awkward I'd find. I'm going to re-design the DVD Label, though, as I don't really like how plain it is.

Sorry but I'm unable to host the pics for now as my host (who was giving me free hosting) yelled at me for using 15gigs a month of bandwidth. As it was the only thing that was on my site, shows how popular your labels are Devin :D. Anyways, since I know how high the demand is I'm looking for another host to use up :p. I thought about hosting on my own comp but I don't think sbc would like that, so you'll just have to use the mirror for now.

Great news man :D  - Just make sure Valve don't mind eh? ;)

Oh, and where's my HL:S, DOD:S, and CS;S covers aswell?   :p

lol, I'm working on it! Just finished midterms, so I should be all set.

Yep, if all goes well I'd post you out a copy of the finished mag.

However, Valve misunderstood what we were asking at first, and now that

they do they say it's 'probably best' for us not to do it. I think we're

going to show them the modified version just to check, but at the moment

it looks like it's off. Sorry about that. We'll still point people to

the URL of your case design for them to get it from the net.

*tear* I think VALVe is a little over protective. I mean, who would honestly think you would get the FULL version of Half-Life 2 in PC Gamer? :pinch:

    • Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Reality Elite chip brings on-device AI to Android XR devices by Pradeep Viswanathan Qualcomm has been delivering dedicated SoCs for mixed reality and spatial computing devices for several years. The journey started with the Snapdragon XR1, followed by the Snapdragon XR2 in 2019, the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 in September 2023, and finally the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 in 2024. Today, Qualcomm announced a major upgrade with the new Snapdragon Reality Elite Platform, which targets premium mixed reality and spatial computing devices. OEMs can use this SoC to power both all-in-one video-see-through headsets and lightweight, tethered optical-see-through glasses. Qualcomm highlighted that the Snapdragon Reality Elite will power the next wave of Android XR devices coming later this year. These wearables will offer better visuals, improved power efficiency, and deeper on-device AI integration compared to the previous generation. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can deliver up to 48 TOPS of AI performance, allowing large language models and large vision models to run directly on the device for the first time. In addition to enabling new spatial AI experiences, these new AI capabilities will improve head and hand tracking, as well as see-through features. On the performance side, the Snapdragon Reality Elite offers up to 60% higher GPU performance, up to 30% higher CPU performance, and up to 160% higher NPU performance compared to the previous generation. The platform supports visuals of up to 4.4K per eye at 90 frames per second for sharper images and smoother motion. Qualcomm is also claiming significant efficiency improvements. The Snapdragon Reality Elite can offer up to 20% longer battery life under the same workload. More importantly, the chipset can run up to 12 degrees Celsius cooler under load, making headsets more comfortable for users to wear for longer periods. The platform also includes improvements to video see-through, featuring lower latency and better image quality. Qualcomm states that its EVA hardware block helps accelerate demanding computer vision workloads, improving how digital content blends with the real world.
    • Umm... GitHub continues to use AWS. That's the story, that's the headline. There's no "new" news here. GitHub continues to require additional capacity beyond the originally-planned Azure allocations. There's nothing special about this; nothing noteworthy. They're still using AWS' infra until the cutover is complete.

    • "just $100 per TB"? Just? Are we trying to make this seem like the new normal? Kinda weird to make it sound like that is not a ridiculously expensive asking price.
