How to set up FTP in Suse Linux

Yes i am trying to find out how to set up a ftp server in suse linux, can any one offer any assistance or direct me to some good information. All help will be appreciated as i am doing this as well to be able to host some files for my fellow Neowinians. I have a 512 Kb upload so i figure i might as well use it. Thanks if you can help.

Not to burst your bubble or anything - but 512kb is not really server type bandwidth. Even if only 1 person was using 100% of your upload pipe - they could only get about 64KB/s down - take forever to get anything ;)

Add a couple of users, you surfing - and people are down to couple of Ks a second - worthless.

Before you go spending any time setting up a server - have you checked that it is not against your AUP, etc..?

I am pretty sure vsftpd is what comes standard with the latest SUSE distros - here is everything you would need to know about setting it up, etc.. -- http://vsftpd.beasts.org/
