[yahoo] GANT yahoo

Recommended Posts

No previews as of yet. Still screwing with the XML file. Anyway :p To the part you are probably looking to. News.. The theme. Its a total overhaul of the yahoo 6 skin, using gant and reluna based images and styles. Pending Manhattan's permission of course, Bant O.o just isnt around any more so im just going to go ahead with that part. This may take a while though. School, work and life have priorities over this. So ill do it in my free time. Shouldnt take me too godawfully long, seeing as the typical yahoo skin pack only has 20 or so images. What takes time is the XML editing and adjusting. Yahoo uses XML to show the messenger and contact list via the size and shape and dimensions of images given. If an image is off a few degrees, it shows. Anyway :p Expect it eventually.

Oh things like Emoticons and things contained within the ypager.exe will not be modded. Due to.. well O.o Skins dont adjust them. You do.

I'd ask him...cos that aint right.

As an artist it makes me cringe to think about someone using my images without even asking, just rude man.

Doesnt really matter what i think anyway, Neomods won't let u get away with that IMO

-_- From what I saw with the Reluna nolight mod and the his info on DeviantArt. He is why I say he isnt around much anymore. Which I'll just contact B0se and ask him if I can use OpusLuna as my inspiration. Doesnt matter me, I wasnt just going to go on a fools errand to ask someone that isnt around.

I wouldn't care about bant's permission like he cares about people here and about his work...he stopped his activities in this community, gives bad comments about peoples' work if he posts in a thread, so give a damn about him and just post your mod when you are finished...he isn't anymore, I would call him dead, even if you would contact him I'm sure he wouldn't answer because he also doesn't care anymore about what people do in this community, that's how it seems to me!

Update. Still alot of work to do, but im hammering out the icon tool bar. O.o I see the dead image and it will be fixed :p Just have to mess with the XML.

Also I HAVE gotten permission (odd way) from Bant to use his ReLuna style :)

As I said, Still have alot of work to go.

I'm glad to see someone is making an effort to skin yahoo, i played around with the xml files, it's a lot harder than trillian or any other program that uses xml files for that matter :s

i would focus more on the messenger window itself...personally i have everything in the message window turned off and not showing including avatars...nonetheless i would still like to see more progress on this. Good Luck!

Oh thanks ^^ o.o I reposted the pic. I forgot to show the contact list. Well, as I said I have ALOT of work to do :\ Seems easy at first until you realize just how complicated it is o.o; Im just focusing on getting all my images made and good then edit the XML based on those.

    • Close, but it is for any application starting, not just during boot time. In fact, it probably will not improve boot time at all because during a boot, the CPU is already boosting, so a pre-boost wouldn't change anything. I agree that it isn't exciting (especially considering every other OS already does it), but it is a good thing, even if they are just playing catch up.
    • Any so called performance increase will be in milliseconds, which nobody will actually notice in real world usage.
    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.
