i thought I saw on wikipedia a few months ago that it was coming out with a series 7 after this next one, but at least for now nothing has been said about anything beyond that..we'll see at the end of this series. It has been on for a bit. They could have a near limitless amount of plotlines, however the same chars and new chars over and over again would get tired.

Series 6

A sixth series was commissioned by Jane Tranter, Head of Drama Commissioning at the BBC, by the time series 5 was announced, and will air in Autumn 2007. Rupert Penry-Jones has already said in interviews that series six is likely to be his last.

In a recent podcast, Guardian journalist Gareth McLean stated that series 6 of Spooks was to differ in format from those previous, prompting internet rumours that the show may move away from its one story per episode structure.

From the BBC Press Office Website: Critically acclaimed spy drama Spooks is back and MI5's Section D grapples with more explosive and original storylines than ever before.

Growing mistrust between the British, American and Iranian governments culminates in a series of high-risk operations at home, pushing the Section to its very limits.

As Iran's race to become a nuclear power impacts on British and American security, the distinction between friend and foe becomes ever-more blurred.

Harry and his team start to question exactly whose agenda they're working to and who they can trust ? both on and off the Grid.

Meanwhile, the electric atmosphere between Adam and Ros comes to a head, but things are complicated further by Adam's ongoing and dangerous affair with a key asset inside the Iranian Embassy.

Harry gains a new friend on the Grid when he recruits old MI5 colleague Connie (Gemma Jones) as desk officer. Clever, and with plenty of old-school tricks up her sleeve, she might just be able to fill the void left by Ruth's departure.

Rupert Penry-Jones, Hermione Norris and Peter Firth return to head up Section D as officers Adam, Ros and Harry. Raza Jaffrey, Miranda Raison and Hugh Simon also return as Zaf, Jo and Malcolm. Guest stars include Matthew Marsh and Robert Glenister

Rogue Spooks

Following the success of the BBC Three Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood the controller of BBC Three, Julian Bellamy, has announced a Spooks spin-off, Rogue Spooks. The series will feature a unit of young MI5 recruits who follow a different rule book to the main agency. Rogue Spooks is, like its predecessor, created by David Wolstencroft, and developed by the same team at production company Kudos. Rogue Spooks is due to be broadcast in late 2007.

Spooks normally starts in September every year, so I don't think it will be any different this year.

I can't wai:D:D

One of my fav shows :D

Whoo! I'd better quickly catch up with series 5 before it airs.

However, from the first two episodes I've seen of series 5, it is the weakest series so far.
