any "clones" of eDonkey?

Well I love eDonkey's servers, they have got good stuff on them.

But I hate the eDonkey application.

It takes 3minutes to search something and I need at least 15min to connect.

So, I wanted to ask if there are any other applications that can download stuff from eDonkey servers?

edit: damn, wrong forum, needed to be in Software assistance, can any-body change this?

get the edonkey bot, speeds up your searches... a lot!

and it does take a long time to connect, i hate that too.

Definately get the bot. www.file-finder.com . Faster searches that search all servers at once, and connection times are also faster.

they have some "money" problem at the moment...looks like there were not enough donations, and they can't afford hosting the lists anymore...hope they'll make it and get back again!

I was all ready to donate something to them last week. I filled out the PayPal form, and the stupid stupid form told me I had not chosen a valid password, even though the instructions clearly state the password must be at least 8 characters long... which my standard password is. I must have tried reentering my password a dozen times before giving up. I wonder if the poor guy knows he is getting the shaft because PayPay won't let us send in donations?

You might be able to find it on the edonkey servers if you search for edonkey bot 1.21. I also managed to find an italian version by doing a search on google.

i saw the english version of the bot at http://www.dailypost.com/download/files/in...ybot/index.html but it's an earlier 1.1 .. dunno if there are major changes but I'll give it a try laterz :D :D :D

as far as i know your only other alternative is to use command line client and if you want to some frontend for it. i know of only 1. offical java frontend for it.
