[help]nu-metal bands

:( there are so many numetal bands out there. i BTed some of them, only to find not my taste.

what's your favorite? i just wanna try something new.

Well....nobody really knows, what excactly Nu-metal is...

Some say its Linkin Park, Korn, Slipknot, Soulfly and so on...

Others say something about LimpBizkit, White Zombie, Neurosis or Headcrash...

but there isnt alot of nu-metal around nowadays... most of it died down

Creamy: i wouldnt call KoRn nu-metal, they were around long before the whole nu-metal 'phase'

2) neurosis, headcrash and white zombie ARE NOT nu-metal dammit.

3) watch mtv/mtv2, lotsa crappy numetal on there. like disturbed, linkin park, lost prophets etc...

nu metal is just a label for crappy bands that want to be called metal but have singers that do not have strong enough voices to be considered real metal and rap metal is not nu metal.

Even know i like Heavy Metal and the real stuff to Nu Metal but some Nu Metal bands are ok but the bands which made Nu Metal in the first place where

Korn, Limp bizkit some say Rage Againts The Machine are nu metal too but thats a different story they all had common influences-the angry, urban stylings of hip-hop and rap ( which is crap by the way ( rap, hip hop :x )

Korn and Deftones are like the first bands to have a different sound but still sounding metal but with later albums they sounded more Nu Metal

Korn brought 7 strings guitars along with which they created heavy, depression filled songs

Korn can be class as Nu Metal, Alternative/Rock

But if you said to any real metal head ( Metaller ) what would you class Korn or any nu metal band as they either laugh in your face or say they are crap because real metal hates these nu metal bands as its kinder destroying the genre

Rage Against the Machine was not Nu-Metal.

Try NonPoint they're definitely in the Nu-Metal genre. I would suppose Skindred is too although, their sound gets rather annoying to me.

Also, get off him about dling music. I download some, but if I like what I hear I buy it, if not it gets trashed. There's no way I'm laying down 15-19 bucks for something I dont know if I like (besides I rarely find what I like in stores anyway :no: ).

Well they are in the area of Rock, Rap and Nu metal as they were produce by Rick Rubin on album Renegades

and he does alot of rock- rap stuff like limp bizkit

Chimaira is not nu metal. Chimaira (at least their latest release, The Impossibility of Reason) is real metal. The Deftones are also not nu metal in my opinion, nor is Godsmack.

You are right, I was thinking for a bit when I entered in Chimaira, probably shouldn't have been there..hmm...actually, I think it doesn't belong there anymore. :)

Almost every one of those bands are not nu metal and it is just plain insulting to call Deftones, Tool, Godsmack, System of a Down, Metallica nu metal. :no:

Grouping Slipknot into just plain nu-metal doesn't do them justice. At all. In fact, it's ignorant.

BUT ANYWAYS. If you wanted to call Slipknot that, then they are my favorite nu-metal band. My favorite band as well.

Why not just call them all metal and have done with it. Iron Maiden, Diamond Head etc were once new metal, and are now just metal.

How do you differenciate between metal and nu-metal anyway?
