dragging error

i had this error before, i just don't know howto fix it, please help me (i'm stuck at my gf's pc, p3 500). i'm using minimal winows effects so gain some performance....

the icon/cursor are like a few pixel separated from each other, how to fix this?

Is it getting like that even when you click on the actual icon and drag it? so does the gap increase over time?

The only way I can get it to happen is when I click next to the icon and click it.

I though it might be something to do with "icon spacing (horizonatal)" in display properties, but it doesn't have any affect.

if just happens when i wanna drag the icon(s) around. if i let it go the icon goes where the cursor is.

BTW : where is the icon text?

Have you any processes that would be lagging down the system? Auto Virus scanner?

Have you a really shoddy graphics card in that box? Dodgy graphics drivers?

Even on my win2k (work) box here it's impossible to cause IconicDragLag

I'll try it later on my movie box. WinXP PIII 450mhz (if I remember to do so)

p3 500 384mb ram, built that box for my gf out of my old spare parts. it works all ok with luna and visual effects enabled, so i figured it must be some visual effect.
