I've tried all Opera's single releases since 7.21, previews included. This is SURELY the best one. Fast, clean... and, as always, totally user-friendly, which I think it's one of its major advantages.

With no doubt, I prefer this to Firefox, which I extensively tried and IMHO can't win on Opera (as for now).

Close opera then go to the folder in program files and look for a file called OperaDef6.ini open in notepad and change the line

Title=Opera 7.6 Preview

under user prefs

Acutally it's the opera6.ini in the profiles folder (C:\Program Files\Opera75\profile), add:

Title=FyrePhox

Application Icon=C:\Program Files\Opera75\firebird_2_01.ico

For example.

Opera 760 seems faster, BUT:

It gives me an error when loading my router?s web config java applet. Opera 7.54 does it fine ( I have JRE 5.0 ). It does work on other java aplets I have tried, but on this one it fails.

I also hope that they give an option to turn off the close icons on the tabs ( I hate them ) and the download dialog for some media files somehow shows ".html" and then downloads the .wmv or .mpg without a problem. Again 7.54 does show the proper extension.

Overall 7.60 is nice but definitely needs some bugfixing.

Yeah, ive noticed the download file extension bug, but it dosent bother me as in saves them in the correct format.

Wow, I only just noticed the .html extension problem :|

And after browsing these forums and the my.opera.com forums, I think I'm the only person on planet earth who likes the new close buttons on each tab :(

I dont mind them, but middle clicking the tabs dose its job just fine, and i prefered having the minimize buttons and such, so i could view 2 pages at once without much hassle, if that makes sense :unsure:.. Bah, i suppose theres always shift + F5.

It is beta, so there is of course risk.

But, in my daily use, here are the general improvements over 7.54

1) Ever had a page fail to load, leaving the tab as only a blank page with no URL to even try again? The URL will now display during page loading.

2) GMAIL Compatable!!!!!!!!!

3) Simplified/Streamlined interface.

4) Umm, that's all I can think of at the moment.

I know it was gone with the preview 1 version but kizzaaa asked I use Opera 7.54. Is the upgrade worth it? and we were just pointing out a few differences between them.

Opera do a very good job of adding new features. I don't really care for the voice stuff but it is pretty cool. I like the new "eye" button on the address bar, find as your type, nicer default UI and less default bookmarks.

I wish you could easily import email from Outlook though :(

    • The original word arts were far more awesome! With their own preconfigured fill patterns, 3D layout, etc. I especially loved the ones circled below and still miss them from my primary school years: I frankly use them less these days 'cause the new one isn't as straightforward fine art as what we originally had. Same with the built-in picarts selection.
    • What didn't you understand about that was mainly referring to Google, Microsoft, etc. keeping your passwords. Password Management is a key service of Bitwarden and it's not going anywhere. In any case they do offer export to other Password management services, backup/download of passwords, and the already mentioned on-prem option. I don't agree with the OP to use the free option as it's better to be an actual customer IMO. They don't just don't delete accounts like the big tech companies with no recourse which was the main concern of this article. I was confused if the author was trying to sell this setup? It should be obvious to anyone reading this article this solution is overly complicated and overkill for most users.
    • I got this notification just now in Android: So I went in to disable the "Other" or "Marketing" notifications in Notifications management: But it came through the Now Playing? So if I disable that I no longer get what's Now Playing in Notifications? I'm a paying subscriber, not on the free plan... can they sink any lower?
    • Population especially in high density areas creates more heat and more humidity. This can be noticed in an indoor arena or concert room which heats up when the room or arena fills with people, without air conditoning to cool it down, Watering of lawns creates more humidity as the moisture from the watering rises into the atmosphere, creating a more humid condition. The again, depopulating an arena or room after an event will drop the temperature inside. Desert areas are less humid for a number of reasons, including a lower population density. Tel Aviv has horrible weather, unless you like it hot and humid. Summer days are regularly 90+ F with humidity well over 70%. It is probably not as bad as Mississippi but still it is bad enough.
