NCAA Football- UNC beats Miami

Recommended Posts

All I have to say is "Wow"

I'm an avid Carolina fan, and neither I nor anyone else figured that UNC would beat Miami last night. But, with 4 seconds left, and the game at 28-28, UNC hit a field goal, winning the game 31-28. Since this was their first victory over a Top 5 team, almost the entire staduim charged the field, taking down both goalposts at Kenan Stadium.

Great Job, Carolina!

and not a better team to do it against either. I love to see miami fall, congrats on your awesome win.

Well, of course you would you're a Gator fan-boy.

I saw the last 4 seconds which was when they kicked the field goal. Man, that reallly sucked. :(

Great job for UNC. My team from back home helped us out :D

As for you BroChaos, your attitude towards other teams is pretty bad. I hear a LOT of Michigan fans whining, but I don't complain. I think they are better than they are ranked and I hope they get a chance to prove how good they really are. Granted there are fans from both sides that like to whine and complain, you should still be the bigger man and not fall into their trap and become negative about the entire program. There are a lot of cocky sooner fans, just ignore them, everyone has fans like that, your team included ;).

Anyway, I have tremendous respect for just about any team that is good enough to be in the rankings, it's not easy. I'm pretty worried about next weekend, if we don't focus Texas A&M could definatly get knocked off by them. Sure they lost to Baylor last weekend but trust me, they are focusing on us and not little teams along the way. I'll be there hoping for the best :)

hehe, trash talking isn't fun when you act like that though :p

i'm sorry, i spend too much time on the espn boards, it's a crazy over there...

but everyone is talking smack about the big 10 this year, and it's frustrating.

at least i don't have to worry about having any heart attacks next week, as mich has the week off.

but we definitely need some more upsets...too many undefeated teams right now.

to make this interesting, we should give our top 10 rankings and top 5 heisman candidates...

1. Auburn

2. Oklahoma

3. USC

4. Wisconsin

5. Cal

6. Utah

7. Michigan

8. Tennessee

9. Georgia

10. Texas

tennessee beat georgia, it should be that way in the rankings.

texas has the 107 out of 117 ranked offense. anyone who can stop the run can beat texas

miami almost gives up 500ypg on average.

heisman:

1. peterson

2. braylon edwards

3. leinart

now, personally, i think peterson will have a good game, and that will end his run. also, mike hart, if you look at total yards, has just as good numbers, but he's not even being mentioned...

no way white should win, after he showed us his choking skills the last two games of last year.

Edited by BroChaos

Well I have class in the morning so I can't go through it all, but for my top 3 I would have to agree with most polls right now in saying:

1. USC

2. Oklahoma

3. Auburn

I think that Auburn is good, but I don't think they can really compare to USC and OU. I have heard people who think SEC is the hardest conference but I can never imagine that being true. Big 12 is almost always the hardest conference to be in, and USC is just really damn strong. I think USC and OU need to play in the Orange Bowl.

As for my heisman I don't have a list but I definatly think it's Adrian Peterson. I don't think anyone can even compare to the season he is having, especially as a freshman. Why can't a freshman win? I think a freshman who is as good/better than a senior or so is BETTER. I defiantly do agree that it's not going to be White again this year. Personally (and don't tell anyone here I said this) I don't think Jason White is that good. If we didn't have the solid offensive front line in front of him he would be toast. I will say that he can throw a damn accurate pass MOST of the time. Anyway, to bed with me, class awaits following my slumber.

the only reason i have a bias against the big 12 being tough this year is after your bowl performance last year. tex, ksu, and ok all lost. auburn seems to be the most consistent, with their closest game coming against then ranked #4 LSU.

honestly, if you are gonna mention peterson, imo, you have to mention hart. just look at the numbers. hart has ran for 3 straight 200+ yard games.

hart:

1160 rushing 5td

174 receiving 1td

total 1334 yds with 6 tds

peterson:

1272 rushing 8td

6 receiving 0td

total 1278 yds with 8tds

judging by those stats, how do not even give hart a nod?? oh, and don't forget, hart has a freshman qb passing the ball, while peterson has a heisman trophy winner...

also, i don't have the numbers in front of me, but i can get them later, on average, michigan plays against better run defenses.

True, like I said, I was in a hurry to get into bed. Hart has had an incredible season as well with his 200 yard games. They are both playing incredibly but I would have to give it to AP over Hart right now. Is that because his stats are a little better or maybe just because he's a personal friend of mine... ahh who knows :p

so all the close games USC has had doesn't bother you guys at all?

why do you put bush ahead of leinart?

if USC lost bush, would they still win? or if they lost leinart, would they still win?

@Betaz, yeah, i put peterson above hart too, it just bugs me that nobody even mentions hart...at least give the kid a nod, ya know?

smith is doing crazy good, it's just too bad that the utes and boise st. don't play anyone good during a season. if the utes make it to a bcs bowl (they are still #6 as of this week) they MUST play good or they are gonna ruin the argument for all their supporters...

Not at all, because they're consistent and all teams have close games.

Bush is 3rd in the nation is all-purpose yards. He runs the ball, catches the ball, returns punts, and returns kickoffs. What else can you ask for? Also, did you forget if it wasn't for Bush, they would've probably lost to Virginia Tech?

I also agree Smith is an awesome QB. However, since he's not playing for a known team, he may not win it.

Well, of course you would you're a Gator fan-boy.

correction: i'm a gator, period. I go to my school, so let's not call me a simple fan boy. I bleed orange and blue. Thanks and congrats on your season :D

    • Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations expansion gives the Slayer a brutal Chain Spear by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Last year, id Software released Doom: The Dark Ages as a prequel to its reboot series, offering a look at the legendary Slayer character during an ancient war between Hell and Heaven. Today, at the Xbox Games Showcase, id Software returned with a new announcement that unveiled Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations as its first story expansion. The expansion will see the Slayer being betrayed and cast into a "merciless purgatory only escapable by confronting haunting truths." Somehow, there is one ally in all this chaos seemingly attempting to help our protagonist escape his fate. Players will be ascending this prison and fighting plenty of new demons and abominations as they work to free the Slayer's followers. One new aspect of the expansion will be the Chain Spear. This new weapon is described by the studio as a "uniquely satisfying combat system that rewards mastery with a potent combination of power and mobility." Check out the trailer below to see the new weapon in action, where the Slayer is seen using it to even pin enemies to walls. id Software is also preparing a free update to all owners of Doom: The Dark Ages that will land alongside the new paid expansion. Dubbed the Ripatorium 3.0 update, this will add more customization options, an improved pass code generation system, and preset options for players diving into the game's arena challenge mode. Expansion buyers will also receive additional maps, demons, and new weapons to use in this mode in addition to the story levels. Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations expansion is out on July 7 across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 with a $19.99 price tag. Those who own the Premium Edition or the Collector's Bundle will receive the expansion for no extra cost as well.
    • Hyped for this. Replayed the remasters recently and they're so well done, and Crash 4 was great too. I trust this team to deliver.
    • Ninja Theory's new Hellblade game is action-focused and set in Purgatory by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Ninja Thery has been building its award-winning Hellblade series since 2017, delivering Senua's Sacrifice and Senua's Saga since then. Today at the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase, the studio had a brand-new installment announcement featuring Senua again, but this time, she is in a version of purgatory, and the focus is on the action. Simply named Senua, this new entry is described as a "full-on action-adventure" experience, delivering an expanded focus on combat, puzzle-solving, and freedom of exploration. The developer says that it is keeping the same high production values and storytelling features of the previous games while giving what players have been asking for in the gameplay department. The entirety of Ninja Theory is now working on Senua, giving the project much more manpower than ever before, while also letting the team draw on its action roots from Devil May Cry and prior titles. However, the studio also confirmed that its previously announced Project Mara horror experience is no longer in development. Alongside snappier traversal moves, Senua will be able to take stealth and direct combat routes. She has access to her own sword, plus any enemy weapons as well, with dual wielding also being an option for most dropped melee swords, axes, and other weapons. Outside of melee combat, Senua will be able to use special abilities that let her alter the reality around her. The world is said to be about twice the size of Hellblade 2. While this won't be an open-world experience, the linear story will let players explore their surroundings further than before. The story of Senua will be set after the events of previous Hellblade titles, with our protagonist being stuck in her own version of Purgatory. The series' well-explored psychosis themes will return as well. "She’s trapped between life and death on a quest to reach the afterlife and be reunited with the ones that she’s loved and lost," adds the studio. "Her belief is that by healing the wounds of her life, she can find the peace that is the key that unlocks the gate to the afterlife." Senua is releasing on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5 sometime in 2027.
    • Windows has had it, it's called camera frame server. I recall when it was first introduced in an early Windows 10 release it caused issues and there was a registry entry to disable it. Seems like they disabled it by default at some point. Windows 11 brought that toggle to the settings app (not just registry) a while ago.
