GTA San Andreas: Have you seen Bigfoot?

Maybe it's madness. Maybe they know that their ?50 is safe in their wallets. But PSM2 magazine are offering a ?50 bounty for the first confirmed sighting (and slaying?) of 'Bigfoot' in GTA San Andreas.

Speculation has been rife since the game's release that somewhere in the woodlands of the million-seller lurks Bigfoot. Other rumours suggest that a leatherfaced crazy-man (known as - hey! - Leatherface) lives in a shack in the woods. Still more believe that Piggsy, the mind-scarring 'star' from Rockstar's infamous Manhunt, lives somewhere in the game. Well PSM2 want to settle the score once and for all - and are prepared to pay for evidence.

They want your proof. Capture the mysterious woodland fiend (be it man or beast) on VHS tape (plug your PS2 into your video's SCART socket and hit record) and, if you deliver the first confirmed evidence of the Beast of The Panopticon, they'll send you fifty of the queen's.

But that's not all. Witnessed the lights in the sky? Seen a random plane crash? Or have you been chased by the haunted, driverless car? Whatever you have witnessed, PSM2 want to know about it. They want your digipics, videos and written accounts and will make you famous in the process. Describe your discovery (and include pics if you have them) and send it to [email protected]

Got a VHS tape of San Andreas weirdness (be it deliberate or a glitch)? Or do you want to make history and claim that Bigfoot Bounty? Send your VHS tapes to San Andreas Weirdness Watch, PSM2 Magazine, Future Publishing, 30 Monmouth Street, Bath, BA1 2BW.

PSM2 will feature full reports in an issue coming soon and we'll keep you updated too on gamesradar.com.

A mate and I played it one night and whilst flying one of the Private Jets we saw a white light in the sky in front of us. It was moving fast and left a trail behind it, we followed the trail but it was moving so fast we couldnt keep up, is that by chance one of the UFO`s?

The Area 69 as they call it in the game is just a military base, you get to break in their in one of the missions, and even in non missions its not avertly difficult to get into, hell you can climb the fence, but youll get 5 stars for doing it...

all thats in there is some chopers, tanks and jeeps.

i was driving a bike real fast across the woods when suddenly i thought i saw bigfoot. when i turn and went back. nothing was tehre. i could have swore i saw something. i have picture a ufo. just there. floating. a plane crash just about 5 steps from where i was standing taking my last photo op. that was weird.

Sorry to dissapoint you all, but Bigfoot was just a rumor started at GTAForums.com  :)

I was just talking on mIRC to the rumor creator..  :D

I hope to god you're right about that. But it still doesn't explain what that thing behind the tree is

gtasabigfootw.jpg

We took the photo a few days ago and we've been trying to get it to happen again on a bigger TV and with one of us in the photo because I'm sick of little hoaxsters. No luck as of yet but fingers crossed

Feel free to e-mail me about any questions, we'll try and post an FAQ as soon as we can get some harder evidence. Could be the hardest ?50 we ever earned.

  • 4 weeks later...

I have only encountered two random plane crashes and they both occured by the docks near the airport by San Fierro. The only other weird thing I have seen is an abandoned hotdog truck in the middle of the woods hidden by some bushes. I seriously would not be suprised if there is a ton of stuff hidden in the game like bigfoot, pigsey, etc. Also there could be stuff hidden under the water and I am sure no one has really looked there.

****SPOILER****

Area 69 is also the place where you get the jetpack for the Truth. Then it spawns at your airfield if you bought it.

Ok, there heaps of talk bout bigfoot. This guy even made a Bigfoot hunting diary... Guess he has to much time on his hands,

Link for all you crazy people such as the above is

Theres tonnes of stuff in the game

as email says below.

Dear Consumer,

Thank you for your interest in our technical support, Unfortunately at this time we are unable to release full details about all the hidden surprises Grand Theft Auto San Andreas has to offer, however i can promise you we have hidden a bunch of easter eggs. Be on the lookout, because you are bound to find something lurking on the mountain tops, or swimming on the ocean floor. You might even see some unwelcome bodies hidden in the wheat fields. There are over 30 Easter eggs that are not discussed in the Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Official Strategy guide, however we will most likely post them at a later date. Thank you for your E-mail and i hope this helped solve some of your problems

Thank you,

Rob Newkirk

UFO - Confirmed, Sometimes you can see UFOs in Area 51, 53 and 69.

Look for Opius's post.

I found something weird yesterday. There is a place in the boonies called "Shady Lake" or "Shady River", something like that. Well anyway if you go aound the lake/river edge in the forest there is sort of a cabin surrounded by trees covering it up. You can go inside of it, but it is completely empty. The weird thing is, when you step inside the cabin it says "Shady Cabin" like you are entering a new area. I stayed in the area for a complete 24 hours, but nothing. It is just a little strange there is an empty cabin in the middle of the woods called "Shady Cabin". :shifty:

Thats the place to be.

Is michael jackson in the game ?

I read this reader kidnapped a kid from town and tied him up in the forest and car filled with explosives.. then after 24 hours MJ came and was blown up.

No offense to MJ. I haven't played the game too much... so excuse me for anything stupid i say...

    • Well, it's good to know that they have found a workaround to a problem that they helped create, I guess...
    • Meta is reusing old DDR4 RAM in its servers instead of buying new hardware by Ivan Jenic Image: Meta The global hardware shortage isn’t exactly news, as the entire world has been struggling with rising component prices for quite some time now. And while big companies certainly aren’t as affected as the average consumer, even they aren’t opposed to the idea of saving a few (million) bucks. Meta appears to have found a way to spend less on new hardware while also putting its outdated infrastructure to use, essentially killing two birds with one stone. The company has built a custom chip that lets it reuse memory from retired servers rather than buying new hardware. The chip is called Vistara and allows for connecting old DDR4 RAM from obsolete servers into new servers that rely on DDR5. The problem Vistara solves goes back to a basic mismatch in how long hardware lasts. Meta replaces its servers every three to five years, but the memory modules inside them are good for seven to ten. When a server gets decommissioned, perfectly usable DDR4 RAM goes with it. Meta is presenting the new method at today’s ISCA symposium, but The Register has got hold of a paper that explains how Vistara works. It's a custom ASIC that bridges DDR4 memory to newer processors via aCXL 2.0/1.1 interface over PCIe Gen5 x16. Meta pulls DDR4 sticks from old machines and installs them in dedicated units it calls MemServers, each of which pairs 768GB of DDR5 with 256GB of recovered DDR4. The operating system sees the DDR4 as an additional memory node and draws from it when the primary DDR5 is running low. Off-the-shelf CXL hardware couldn't do this, so Meta built its own. Existing interfaces bundle their own memory with the controller, which makes reusing old RAM sticks impossible. But Vistara separates the controller from the memory entirely, so Meta can plug in whatever DDR4 sticks it has on hand. Meta plans to deploy the new architecture in hyperscale infrastructure with millions of servers, which should mean that Meta’s AI datacenters will now be more efficient. The company is investing heavily in AI infrastructure, especially with its new AI model, Muse Spark, now widely available. All of this doesn't mean that Meta will exclusively rely on "recycled" RAM, but the company is still looking at considerable savings at scale.

    • I like Tidal, but it still does not control devices from the mobile/app and still no surround support. And yeah re: above comment I still get a lot of network errors and I am on a 4/4 Gbit Fiber connection.
