well I cant see the point in even trying this the best feature is disabled

Please note that this is a trial version of TopDesk.

It is missing many of the features present in the retail version of TopDesk. In particular:

* It will not tile minimized windows.

* It will not display all windows belonging to the current application.

* It will not hide windows.

* It will cannot be configured to automatically start when Windows starts.

* It will not allow you to configure hotkeys, change animation speeds, or disable animation.

i agree. what the hell, how are we suppose to know if it runs well?

entbloess for me i guess.

also, noticed that this program uses opengl, unlike the current expose clones out there. somewhat interesting...

Keito: The retail version of TopDesk supports minimized windows, so you can "win+m" as much as you like :)

fatgirl319: The trial version will tile all the visible windows on your screen. Everything that's disabled (minimized windows, application windows) are just extensions of this main feature. The download is only 217 KB, so if you're interested, it's worth spending a few minutes trying it out.

nomis_nehc: We chose to cripple the trial because most users object to applications installing hidden "cookies" on their machine in order to implement time or usage limits. Removing non-core features from the trial allows us to avoid this invasion of privacy.

evo|: Thanks for the compliment :)

The Beav: Windows Media Player uses overlays to display video, and overlays do not work with the window snapshot functions available under WindowsXP. Depending on your graphics card, this problem can be solved by turning off the Media Player video mixing renderer. See www.otakusoftware.com/support/topdesk_faq_media_player.html for more details.

smaulz: We plan to support multiple monitors in a future release. We are completely up front about the current feature set and compatability issues, sometimes to our detriment, but we feel it is important that users have as much information as possible.

XanDaMan, The Beav: Regarding the pricing, TopDesk costs the same as similar window effect addons, such as WindowFX from StarDock. TopDesk costs more than other Expos? clones, but you get what you pay for. If, like many other users, you've found that Expos?-like functionality is hard to live without, then paying $19.95 for something you'll use all day every day is very reasonable.

GiardinoSelvaggio: Thanks for the "constructive" criticism :) I can see that you think we're "money hungry" because of the price, and that's fine - as a consumer, it's your right to decide which products you by based on price difference.

I'd like to understand where you're coming from with the other statements though. I'm not quite sure which of my statements suggested that we're "inflexible" or "insecure", and I don't know on what basis you're judging our level of support - from your statements it doesn't look like you've bought the product. Could you please elaborate on your statements?

Just a note for the future as well - I'm not one of programmer on TopDesk, I'm the project manager. I posted to this forum get some feedback on what people outside the team thought of the software, and it's been great to get some feedback before we go into wide release. It has allowed us to "tweak" this first version of the software to better meet users expectations - for example, due to feedback from this forum, we've reduced the price to $9.95 USD.

Yeah, Entbloess would be rad if it didn't crash my entire computer. I have never in my life had a program that completely crashed my computer, until i used Entbloess.

Not about to pay for a program that gives me absolutely no way of knowing whether it won't do the same thing, though.

lav: You can find out if TopDesk will run on your machine by running the trial. All the extra functionality in the retail version is just an extension of the trial (the main features missing from the trial are minimized windows and configuration). If the trial doesn't work, the retail version won't work. If the trial works, the retail version will work.

Just a update - version 1.1 of TopDesk has been released. The major new features are live tiled window updates and tiled window titles.

The live tiled window updates feature updates the contents of non-minimized tiled windows in real-time, letting you see any changes that occur. For example, when your instant messenger conversation window is tiled, you'll still see new messages as they arrive.

The tiled window titles feature displays the window title of the currently selected tiled window, making it easier to recognize windows when they are tiled.

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Clean, irreversible, and fully offline. Comments, Links & Bookmarks Add comments for review, insert clickable links, and create bookmarks to jump around long documents without scrolling forever. Find & Replace Search across the whole document and replace text in one go. Long overdue. Split Pages Vertically or Horizontally Split any page down the middle, vertically or horizontally. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline. No login, no cloud, no account. Your files stay on your device. • Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
