simple.. theres a theme manager program in a menu somewhere. U just have to find it.

After u find that prog, there is a "install new themes" button where u click on the directory of where you downloaded the file.

YOu don't even need to unzip or anything.. You just click on the .tar file (was it a .tar file?) and it installs automatically.

I wish everything in linux was as easy as that.

(Sorry, I recently switched back to SUSE from ubuntu, as I'm still too noob/windows-ish to use it, so I can't give you any precise details as to which menus to go through and stuff)

Nobodies too noob to run Ubuntu or some of the other more user friendly distros! Give it a go! The installation process is even easier than Windows!

#2

If you're using Gnome simply click "Applications > Desktop Preferences > Themes" then click "install theme" and browse to the theme file :)

Great theme, looks a lot better than the 2.0 release, especially the metacity borders.. The only issue I'm having is with tabs. gedit uses the little close icon where the right side of the icon gets cut off. Also tabs in epiphany seem to "strech" moving the whole window down when it loads a tab and shows the foot icon. When it's done loading it shifts back..

In the gtkrc file there's a line:

gtk-icon-sizes = "panel-menu=24,24:gtk-menu=24,24:panel=24,24"

Change the gtk-menu size and it should fix your problems..

    • Does anyone here know if these updates are integrated into the UUP dump isos?

    • NVIDIA officially supports Ubuntu, as linked above with the GeForce NOW Hands on I did in collaboration with Paul Hill.
    • TO be clear I am not running linux today, however I keep thinking about it. And I want to make sure there are minimal obstacles if I decide to make that switch in the coming months.
    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
