Firefox Themes Don't Work For Me

I'm trying to use a different firefox theme, but none of them work for me. I download the theme and it gets put in my themes list, but when i click use this theme and restart firefox it is still using the default theme.

I've had this happen in XP and 2000 with v .9 and 1.0 of firefox, if anyone could help me out with this I'd greatly appreciate it.

is the theme, for the version you have, also does the theme have a readme the maker might be able to help you

They're all for the version im using. I've tried just about every theme on the official Mozilla themes site, and a few from other sites so I don't think its a problem with the theme itself though I will look for a readme for any of them.

I have made this mistake before also. Did you make sure you download the correct theme. What I mean by that is did you download the theme for Fx and not Moz Suite? And did you download the theme for the right OS? I downloaded a os x theme once on my pc and while it installed it wouldn't work and I could never uninstall it.

I know you have already done this but.. you never know some people...

You must pick the theme and pick use theme after its installed.. then close all open windows of firefox.. check taskmanager and see if theres a firefox.exe running crashed in the background...

Restart firefox...

If still not working go back to themes and make sure its selctect and pick use theme again and restart firefox...

Other then that dunno... never seen or heard of this before..

Maybe you can download a nightly or uninstall and clear out your profile and install again... (delete mozilla folders in your windows profile)

I deleted the profile information and now it works, however when I try to restore my settings from my old profile, the theme stops working. I'm using MozBackup to backup and restore my profiles. I really just need my bookmarks. Is there any other way to backup and restore the bookmarks?

Do you have TBE installed?

TBE is known to scrap theme system :/

I don't use it anymore since I want to use themes

Nope, i don't have TBE installed.

I got it working! I believe there was some incompatibility with my userchrome.css file because it worked when I didn't transfer that over from my old profile.
