(Y) although when I reinstalled them the ethernet had some problems, so I went to device manager and rolled it back, works fine. .weir
the ide driver is finally working in these ones as well, I always had trouble with the IDE-SW or whatever it was called so just used the windows default, and it finally works for me this time, dunno if it's helping any though Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/247738-nforce2-drivers/#findComment-584971735 Share on other sites

RadishTM Veteran Posted November 23, 2004 Veteran Share Posted November 23, 2004 I was in the same boat as you Dreamz ( https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=231687 ), but I took the plunge and installed the latest version - with a twist though. I installed the drivers I needed first (GART, Ethernet etc ....), then after the reboot installed the IDE drivers from the setup program alone. Radish? Radish? 584971945[/snapback] there's a separate ide package? or did you extract them and then install? why did you do it in 2 steps if you were planning on installing the ide drivers anyway? RadishTM Veteran Posted November 23, 2004 Veteran Share Posted November 23, 2004 I wanted the Nvidia chipset drivers at the expense of not installing the IDE drivers - because of the things I heard about them. But the setup allows you to untick what drivers you want to install, I ticked everything apart from the IDE drivers. After the system was running well I took the plunge and ran the setup again unticking everything apart from the IDE drivers to install them. Everything is working sweet now. Radish? dreamz Veteran Posted November 23, 2004 Author Veteran Share Posted November 23, 2004 yeah, i'm in that position. i've heard stories of people losing their hard drives when they defrag, or their optical drives stop working or don't appear. :/ Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/247738-nforce2-drivers/#findComment-584972001 Share on other sites
