A Way to get into shape

Recommended Posts

ooh, join high school football. they make you run, which builds cardio, and they make you weight lift, so i suppose it's a good balance. it's not weight lifting to the max either. i've certainly gained some bulk and strength after joining. my cardio is a lot better than before too.

ya, once in grade 8 we had to do some fitness testing thing in PE and a part of it was to run 6 400m laps non stop. at the time, it was the first time i've run for that far, and after running i spat on the field and for punishment, they made me run for about another 3 laps. after that i passed out on the field for about 15 minutes.

just last week, a friend got me started on going to the gym at the community centre. its great, they got all the equipment for weight training AND cardio. Everytime i go i pay $3 (canadian) and its worth it, you get a lot of improvement in strength and figure. i say its worth a shot for you. try it out.

I suggest you buy a protein shake, take that as to complement, not suplement, get at least 5 meals a day. And for workout you better be able of doing 60pushups consecuteviely, and when you are able to do them, do 1000 each two days in sets of 30, at least 500 crunches each two days too, then do bench dips one day, lift from your chair with only your tricep and abdominal strength another day, squats, And play sports too or you will get all rigid if you arent used to that extra weight while doing sports too, calves raise since you wont do extra weight just dont workout your muscles more than 2 days consecutevily, take protein before working out and after, get some oat or nuts and add to complement again, and just eat as much as you can, when you feel like you can take over the world, start doing dumbbells, and when you do and your muscles are good, then start losing body fat and try to gain some muscle (mantain), oh btw you wont look good if you have a 2 inch chest and no marked abs, so Just start and do that 2 pushup set they mentioned, its bad =x and lame

I do have one exercise you can do which believe me you would discover mussels you did not realise you had and you will see the difference.

You can buy a 65cm ball to do exercises on. Try and buy one with a mat otherwise it can be a little uncomfortable otherwise...

With this use two small solid steal dumbells or sand filled dumbells and do your exercise with the ball... Very affective and good for your abs and posture...

I never thought I would be able to get back into shape by using this ball but believe me it does work...

Cost me ?15:00 for the ball and the mat Reebok was the make...

With regards to protean tablets speak to an expert before taking any food supplements...

Hey,

It's getting to be winter and things are dying down a bit. I'm 15 and I really need to beef up and get into shape. To me that's ny only weakness, being thin and not really having a tone. I eat less than i should, eating more snacks than i should. Is there a way for me to get into like a home training program? Something i can do at home and not have to go to a gym for. And what kidns fo foods should i be eating if i want to gain some weight?

help is greatly appreciated

Hey everyone, winter is about over here in Maine, so i thought i would start up the weight training now. although i do have a couple questions.

Can shortcomings, low/high blood pressure, bad blood flow, and tiredness be solved by just getting in shape and getting healthy with foods and proper excersize?

And is it true, results from a good workout plan can be seen in just 2 weeks?

Also, what about the 5 meals a day, what should they be? (besides bfast, lunch, dinner)

Thanks,

Pops

I'm also 15 and have been weight lifting for about half a year now. All you have to remember is to eat regularly, once every 3 hours preferably that will keep your metabolism up. Lift big, not high reps of low weight they will only build lean muscle which isn't big although it is very fast, so aim for aroun 6-8 reps. I prefer to use the pyramid technique:

1 weight you can only lift 16 times

half minute rest

1 weight you can only lift 12 times

half minute rest

1 weight you can only lift 10 times

half minute rest

1 weight you can only lift 8 times.

What most people do is 6 months 'bulking' where they don't mind too much about the extra fat they just want to put on as much muscle as possible and then 6 months slimming where they trim up for summer, or if your in australia - winter. Not sure how the seasons work exactly.

I'm currently coming to the end of my bulking (i finish at the end of march) And I've just hit 11 and a half stone and my aim was 12 stone so i'm on target right now and I used to be really skinny.

I do advise buying a set of dumbells, they're the only weights I have at home and they do alot of mucles, if not all of them, even your neck - but I don't advise it too much. I bought my dumbells and they're one of the best buys I've ever had.

Also drink lots of water, water is needed for every reaction in the body, at least 2 litres a day, i drink 4 litres a day sometimes more. Also sleep is needed - your body needs AT LEAST 8 hours sleep because this is the only time muscle grows, I normally try to get in 10 hours sleep. It means early nights but I'm glad I get the extra rest.

IF you want to go big time you could always invest in some supplements like whey protein but I wouldn't advise it as lots of them contain legal steroids and at our age things like creatine and steroids aren't good at all :p

Your body creates creatine naturally and if you take creatine then your body will stop producing it naturally and that's not good at all.

Hope this helps a bit.

Don't try to bulk up too much during your adolescent years. You'll regret having 20 inch guns, and a measly 5' 3'' stature.

Just work on pushups, situps, and squats. If you get the chance, check out various isometric guides on the web. Bruce Lee attained much of his strength from the unorthodox methods he employed.

If you plan on working out at home, I'd suggest you purchase a few weight bands. They're made of rubber and offer varying levels of resistance. You'll be able to work each and every muscle provided that you figure out how to do so.

First reply got it right. Good job sentio!

Do push ups and pull ups, running, and other exercises. Your bones, tendons and ligaments are not intended at your age to lift weights repeatedly. Its a stressor on your body and given your age and inexperience (I don't mean this offensively) you won't follow proper form if lift weight by yourslef. My knees hurt a bit know (I'm in my 20s) and I blame that partly on weightlifting.

If you want to get "big and strong" do it in a few years. It will be easier and you won't pay the price later. I'm not a big guy (I'm out of shape now) but when I was 17 I max bench pressed 300 lbs. I was only 150 lbs. Its not a good idea to lift

(any) much weight early.

Get a friend and do some plyometic exercises. There's books you can buy or get from your library. You'll get a lot more fit doing that.

    • The DS925+ which is this years model with 2.5G networking is only marginally more expensive. About £25 more on Amazon UK. Not sure on the certified disks thing though, I guess it depends if the disks they certified are more expensive than the others or not. I use Seagate IronWolfs personally. Are they on the list? I agree with Steven. Synology DSM is miles ahead of the competition, I wouldn't go elsewhere now. The price is justified.
    • Google Cloud announces new Gemini-powered tools to 'increase efficiency' for partners by David Uzondu Google just announced a couple of new AI tools for its Partner Network Hub on Google Cloud, designed to take care of some of the most boring admin work and make things a bit easier for the companies it works with. Putting together a formal Statement of Work can be a tedious process, where every single detail needs to be perfectly aligned with Google Cloud's requirements. The company's new SOW Analyzer, powered by Gemini, tackles this directly. Partners can upload their draft document, and the AI will immediately point out problems like missing clauses or technical goals that are not measurable, even providing examples of how to fix them. In addition to the analyzer, there is a new Bot-Assisted Live Chat. This is an AI agent built into the partner portal that provides 24/7 help with things like onboarding, billing questions, and incentive claims. If the AI cannot solve your problem with billing or rebate claims, it can hand you off to a human agent without making you explain the entire issue from scratch. These two tools are joined by AI-powered updates to the existing Earnings Hub, which is designed to help partners find new growth opportunities by using predictive data to show what services are in demand: The SOW Analyzer and Earnings Hub are available right now for partners in the hub. The Bot-Assisted Live Chat is currently rolling out and is expected to be fully available to all users by next month.
    • Not sure I agree with your particular interpretation of this. An ESU key is still required per device that you have to enter into the device in order to activate ESU. These aren't being given out for free. The linked Microsoft article still states: "If you have paid to enroll your remaining Windows 10 systems in the ESU program..." which seems to confirm this.
    • I swear, whoever is handling the Gundam IP for video games should be fired. How can you go from the gems that were releasing in PS1, PS2 and PS3, to the utter disaster that's today, from the VR game just to be on the hype bandwagon and all the focus on SD. This will probably be studied as one of the worst ways companies mishandle an IP.
