I'll offer a mirror for load balancing or something if you want. I run linux servers though, but I'll let you use my "sandbox" server. It gets about 11 Mbps up and down on the internet.

This is my speedtest on MegaPath or whatever's server while it was very busy. So it looks a little slower than normal on the upstream:

These tests are with everything running (game servers, FTP, mail, etc. etc.) so it'd give a realistic result of normal use.

This is another one I tried:

the other

*seems I "spammed", if you care to see the link, just PM me. The result was 20.9 Mbps (it was in the same state as the server).

I tried more, but I kept getting results with greater than 2000 Mbps, so I discarded those.

If you are serious, I'll help with the load balancing and/or mirrors, the only problem I foresee is that I reject all pings.

Due to the time of the year, I won't be updating the script until sometime next week. Anyways, right now is mainly bug killing and adding new features. :)

I'll probably work on the layouts tonight and post my final edit before I hit the sack.

Aha! An update!

As seen in this image (https://www.neowin.net/forum/uploads/post-2...-1103597805.jpg), there is a portion that lists how many files you have and how much space they take. This was the last thing I wanted to take care of before building the layout into the script.

Now begins the process of working the script and the layout into a final beta.

Today's update:

Just finished taking the layout out of Photoshop and have it all sliced, diced, and set into some nice HTML code.

I'm now going to merge the HTML code with the script code (but will keep it clean by making the layout stored in a seperate file). After this is done, the primary part of NFiles will be complete. I will now just have to do all of this to the File Manager layout. :)

Update: I have coded the top portion of the layout into the code, and present you with a real working header - complete with real-time quick file statistics:

Today's update so far:

I've finished building the layout into the Quick Upload portion. I'm having a little trouble sending a message to the results page cleanly (you'll understand what I'm saying in a second), but I should have that problem figured out soon.

My next step will be to setup the FTP Upload page with the layout, which I'm thinking of actually just merging the two codes into one file (The FTP code is in a seperate file right now, and the main file is so empty right now because I cleaned a ton of code).

Uploading in style:

Upload Complete:

(Don't mind the long URL - that's a quick fix to my "sending a message" trouble I mentioned above)

Alright, I've narrowed it down: It's not just animated images, it's any large file. I haven't narrowed it down yet, but the last few 400-500k files I uploaded failed.

This makes it easier to figure out...hopefully. At least I know what code I have to pry apart now.

Now I've pretty much narrowed it down: It's the CGI portion of the upload status script. For some reason it's fine with smaller files, but once you hit the high digits in file size, it freaks. Why exactly is unknown.

So, the question is: What am I going to do?

I'm going to scrap it.

Not NFiles, just the upload status - at least until I can find a way to fix it, or someone else does.

So my current project will be to code an upload system from scratch, while also keeping the user entertained and not sitting at a screen that gives no information. Yay. (not)

man..im excited! Can't wait till the beta comes out! :D

Well keep watch. :)

Its so cool :D

It's getting there :p

Update: I've changed some code around so when you want to download an image, it will display it instead of poping up with a download window. (Yes Liquid, I found out the problem -- forgot to tell the browser it was an image)

Also Liquid's new style is in place, but I need to fix some text placements on it.

Update #2: Bam! Style!

post-23120-1105955081_thumb.jpg

Fits and works great.

(No files mainly because I had to re-write the darn upload system and all old files were worthless -- aka, wiped!)

Update #3: It's late (early in the morning, but no sleep so far) and I've killed some more bugs, tweaked some more settings, and added some polish - if all goes well, I'm going to clean up the File Manager code today (seriously, it's been so long since I've touched that code) and try to work a style into it.

Update #4: Beta is open. Talk here.

    • What are you on about? Not all 'AI' is the same, and AI in security it's a serious tool (Unfortunately it's good for both defence and threat actors, so it's currently an arms race). Recently discovered a 27 year old bug in OpenBSDs TCP stack, and will continue to find CVEs at a rate that human researchers/developers will never be able to match. I'm not a fan of the 'creative' AIs which stop people actually being bothered to think for themselves, but when it comes for looking for pattens (e.g Cancer screening photos), or finding weaknesses in software it has serious benefits.
