My arguement against IE is that for any website I make I have to do so many CSS hacks or separate stylesheets just to get IE to do what Mozilla, Opera, or Safari can do with web standards. Plus, all three browsers still do tabbrowsing better than Maxthon/others.

I want to add one more thing.

I think Opera is a really good tabbed browser, but not Firefox.

Maxthon is a pure tabbed browser, everything is done in one window, whereas FX gives tab as an option that isn't even the first choice when clicking links(I heard it will be available in FX next march).

Maxthon has ability to group/lock/send/protect/rename tabs, and you can even tile all tabs to see all of them in one window.

You can set different mouse gestures specially for tab bar, and choose the location of the tabs, and adjust size of tabs.

All above are provided default.

What does FX provide as a tab browser?

p.s. You can disable tab in Maxthon too.

I do understand how IE makes web designers' work harder by not supporting the standards.

But what do you mean that other browsers do tabbrowsing 'better' than Maxthon/other IE based browsers?

Some browsers implement the gestures poorly or the gestures are not as responsive.

I have found that Opera has the most responsive gestures for me. If I make a gesture, it reacts promptly. Others I have tested cannot keep up.

I prefer Opera, but I'm not one to promote Opera. I recommend Firefox for most people because Opera is more of an acquired taste while Firefox offers an Internet Explorer-like experience with added functionality and security.

However, I don't really favor Internet Explorer in any situation simply because of the security holes.

Any browser that sets on IE to work, you don't see the real picture of how much resources it uses. Cause IE hides that in the OS itself. Just my 2 cents here. Not bashing those browsers or saying that Fx is the best. I do however agree that right now Fx does use to much.. but It's just now hit version 1.0 lets see if they can improve on that soon.

IE and Explorer do share libraries, however, that doesn't mean it 'hides' its memory usage. Those libraries should already be loaded into memory, so instead of using its own dedicated library, it just uses explorer's which means that it is actually more efficient. I'm not hear to argue what browser is better. I guess I'm not even on topic. I just wanted to make that whole 'integrated' non-sense a little clearer.

I would also like to have seen something like Konquerer added since they added Safari.

there used to be a plugin for firefox that enabled single window browsing, exactly like opera or maxthon, but i dont think it works anymore with later versions of FF.

Did you quote the correct one?

You don't seem to have answered to my questions, and it wasn't you who said Maxthon has worse tab browsing than others.
