Funny how a sunny place like Florida can cause so much grief to so many people (that is: a lot of spam comes from there). Any that is getting off the subject.

DDOS'ing is not smart, even if it is to the lowest form of life (aka spammers). Mistakes do happen and it could be to you or your ISP. AND (I think this has already been thought of, so don't accuse me of planting the seed) I can just see a huge problem lurking in the back ground. Thing like this are bound to be sent to everyone in your inbox right? So little s**t is going to start an email to a look-a-like site. There you will download the same screensaver, but the code will be altered to DDOS someone else.

I read a great editorial from someone regarding emails and spam. What he said is that you are charged a fee to send an email (like a postage stamp), but unlike a similar plan by B.G., the recipient can then ok the email as legit and the send refunded. So that if you want to send out 1000 emails for v14gr4 and it costs ?1 each, you get charged ?1000. If no one ok's your email, you are out of pocket for ?1000! Now if granny send you an email, she will also be charged ?1. But you then ok the email and her ?1 gets refunded. Next time she sends to you, there is no charge untill you block it again.

i would never pay to send an email

If all of us use this as screensaver, and some of us run the flash file 24/7, then spammers would have higher bill.

At the same time, if I am not mistaken, someone would get a profit out of it, right? See: spammers pay more = someone earn more.

LOL!

but not the spammers! :p

So how do we add domains? Guess we can't? Man, Wish we could add emails. I would add [email protected] to the list

it uses realtime blacklists that are hosted on various sites across the net.

the same blacklists that are used in most spam protection and Nortons internet secuirty

i use these lists on our exchange server to filter out a lot of spam mail.

so come on guys use your noodle.

:woot:

I just worry about the legal implications.  Everyone is effectiley participating in a DOS, which IIRC is a federal offense now.  All it takes is one wrong URL, or even one legit spammer who turns the whole lot in, then everyone using it could face a court case.

right once and for all

IT IS NOT DOS ATTACK!!!

it requests the page a dos actually receives the page therefore IT IS NOT A DOS ATTACK FFS COME ON STOP BEING TWITS

Well whatever it does it seems to be working. The volume of spam in my Inbox at home has seriously dropped by about 60% in the past few days. I couldn't work out what it was and then remebered this... go Lycos! :)

There are other ways of dealing with spammers apart from this. Makes me think that the 'team' who thought of this gem were all 17 year old pimple faced geeks stoned off their asses.

I dont support this at all, and I do not support spammers. There are better ways of fighting spam.

It's been said many times, why are you repeating it and getting angry at it?
