Does anyone know of the Windows directory references? For example, %programfiles% returns the full path to the Program Files folder. I am trying to find one to the current users desktop directory so that I can use it in a batch file (.bat). Thanks!

%UserProfile%\Desktop or shell:DesktopFolder

hi, is there a keyboard shortcut for creating folders?

Alt+F > W > F

@ethief:

I couldn't find in your list the one that used to be Microsoft's most useful shortcut --> Ctrl+Alt+Del

pre XP it was once for the Task manager and twice for shut-down

in XP it brings up the "Widows Security" magic box

(perhaps it's no longer considered a shortcut in view of the Ctrl+Shift+Esc shortcut for Task Manager)

Great list!

what about the starting keys like:

* F8 - while starting to start in safe mode.

* F12 - while starting to select the boot device (basic).

* F2 - while starting to bios (basic).

I have heard that there is a shortcut to open User Manager while the starting of the machine and previously of the user log on.

Is it real?

:p

I want to know if somebody know about this.

Somebody told me that there is a way to open User manager with some key hits while the start up and before to the user log in screen, so that means that you are able to log in as administrator just removing the actual user password or create a new user. do you know about it?

I don't like the mouse, I rather to work with the keyboard. And thank you for all your tips, are very usefull.

Thanks a lot

Excellent bit of work, thanks.

I compiled most of them into an Excel file to make it easier for me to find the one I want.

I attach it here as a ZIP file (can't upload xls files).

Hope somebody finds it useful.

Respect to original poster etc ...

    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.

    • Or use Epic games and get full games for free. lol Steam and their demos. Thankfully there’s competition
    • Maybe I missed it, but does this say anywhere that the game save bug has been squashed? I haven't encountered it myself, but it would be nice to know I'm good to go. Anyway, amazingly well done game. Mostly more of the same. ...but when the same is best in class with improved graphics and features, then a win.
    • Well when your game flops, you should expect this. If I do bad at work, I would expect a layoff. Less than 1600 people played it on steam. https://steamdb.info/app/1934570/charts/
