SATA or RAID drivers causing software to not load

Recommended Posts

Quick Description: After installing my RAID ATA133 and Serial ATA drivers, Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security (amongst others) didn't load in my system try on startup.

Details: I bought a DVDRW drive yesterday and I have used up all my IDE's (4), so I had to hook this drive up to IDE3 (on of my RAID IDE's). I installed the drivers and got the burner working no problem.

It was time for a format, so I took care of this and imaged my install (thank God) before installing my SATA and RAID drivers. I then proceeded to install the drivers and noticed (after about 15 minutes :() that the programs listed above did not load. I have restored the image and tried again (unfortunately, I installed both drivers before restarting so I can decipher which is causing the problem).

Task manager has revealed that certain Norton processes are running.

I'd really like to avoid re-imaging. Can anyone help?
