I got my 4th generation 20GB iPod the other day and on the manual it says the battery will last up to 12 hours. I have charged up my iPod about 2 or 3 times already and when I have charged it, atleast once or twice I completely flattened the battery and it gave me the warning saying that I need to charge my iPod. But for some reason my battery does not go on for 12 hours, it?s more like 4 ? 6 hours, is this because of the usage of blacklight ? (I have it set to stay on for 2 seconds)

I hope you understand what they mean when they say 12 hours, charge it, and click on play, it's 12 hours of continuous endless playing, it's really logical the more you use the backlight and the more you flick around songs, it will need more energy to traverse through all those items, so obviously it won't last all that 12 hours, make yourself a nice playlist if you continuously flick through songs, because every audio device manufacturer anticipates that whatever people put on their players they would listen to, and not just skip it, otherwise what's the point of storing it in the player.
