thx for all ur replies!!!

now im hesitating within those two:

the creative zen micro (5GB)

and

the rio carbon (5GB)

what do you guys think?

ipod: i dont really like them and ive hurd the sound quality isnt so good + there quite pricey vs these 5Gb models

thx

Out of those, I would get the Zen Micro. But I really dont see how you can say it has bad sound quality. Perfectly fine here. If you encode your music at 128kbps or higher you shouldnt notice anything. (I'm no audiophile, but trust me, the sound isnt bad)

Going by the title and this reply, I think your Dad needs to buy you a dictionary for Christmas too.

Go read up reviews on the three players. Trust me, just because Apple brainwashed 80% of consumers to think that iPod =omgpwn doesn't mean that the iPods are any good (in fact, when you look at the competition, they're not).

For 5GB mp3 players: Rio Carbon > Zen Micro > w/e > iPod mini

Out of that list, I'd take the Creative Zen, but I like the iPod much more :) (The only bad thing about is that it gets scratched so easily, I've had it for 6 days and it's already f***ed, yes I take extreme care of it as well)

I took extra care as well, and I don't see mine all scratched up ;) except the fact that my headphone plug area is all dyed red, and I HAVE NO IDEA WHY

I would go for the iAudio M3. Looks very sleek and stylish, I remember those old Sony Tape players that looked a bit like this. I'm going to buy one myself. It has multiformat support. If you can hack it not having a screen on the main unit this is the best. Comes with transfer software as well, but its fully accessible with Windows Explorer compared to Apple's pathetic iTunes.

Thinking of switch from iPod, I converted 1500 AAC files to MP3 files.

Please post review if you get this because I'm very interested in it.

    • Yes for me, I installed 'old calculator' (Windows 7 calculator) in its place since it is more useful to me. I think paint is the only one I left installed
    • eh I'll wait for the June 2026 MVS ISO downloads which should be coming out next Tuesday June 16 and possibly contain build 8655 instead of 8653
