Oh my god! Can't people get it?

Windows X likes creating longhorn vs, but if you are going to flame him, DON'T POST AT ALL!!!

Flamers, can't you think about what would happen if you were a leader? If you were, everyone would follow your orders, and they would flame with you towards Windows X. That makes the Neowin Community get so dull and so up with a big forum, but lots of flaming!

From now on, NO FLAMING WINDOWS X. If your thought is a bad thought, don't say it at all! Just only good comments!

First off this the WIP Forum. If people are saying stop making it that should be a clue. Second - You can't tell me what to do.

Your being the damn Flamer here. Hell look at your damn sig. Yes I'm sure you will change it.

PLEASE! NO MORE LONGHORN!

Look, there's only so much you can do before a new theme is released by MS. Take a break. Relax. Go outside, get some fresh air, something, but just don't make any more Longhorn stuff for a while, 'kay?

What gives you the right to tell people what to do and what not to do with their own time?

I hope that WindowsX isn't that deluded and expects everybody to like his work.

Here is my take on WIP visual styles (or anything WIP in general).....

People post their work to get opinions on their specific WIP item (be it a VS, logon, or anything in general). They want feedback as to if people think the actual WIP item is good, bad, needs work, etc. Most also appreciate the constructive criticism on how to make the actual WIP item better.

Most of the time I read these threads and there is mostly good feedback (and by good, I mean no flaming). I personally believe that if you have an opinion (good or bad) of the WIP item in question, please state it. State what you like about the item, what you dislike, or what you think could be done to make it better. Reply to the post with information that the original poster is requesting. If you dislike general things (LH visual styles, Royale mods, or any other generic category or genre) thats fine, but there is no reason to post that type of comment within this type of thread. Perhaps try posting that in The Soapbox section.

Windows X did not ask whether or not people liked longhorn themes, he asked about what he can do to change things up a bit. He's soliciting ideas for ways to make things better and different. I'm guessing he knows not everyone may like his work, but he wants to get feedback from the general public. I'm assuming he's asking for this feedback so he can produce a product that as many people will enjoy as possible.

The idea of posting comments in these types of threads seems so easy, yet so hard to follow for some. Just my $.02, this is not an attack on anyone.

gr8 post, Greenstein. I've been expecting someone to post something like this till now :) I'm developing Aeon, win-fi, Neowin (Reloaded) and Longhorn stuffs right now. I'm not going to stick with Longhorn forever, OK? I made this thread because I want to ask you guys how to make Longhorn different from original (but I don't like mixing Longhorn with mac, royale, etc.) And now I found there's no way. Thank you Neowin to make me realized that Longhorn can't be anything here. ZOOOOM!!! (Rushing to make reversed Aeon)

first of all ... wtf is aeon? link?

second... https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?act=...e=post&id=98261 windowsx how did you get the longhorn globe thing on xp? is there a program for that or is it just a static image created with yztoolbar?

my bad, ok you know the menus that display a small previews for images or the details of your files on the left part of the my computer, the one that has that system task, on the left:

Do you still have the shell replacement to b able to move that task pane on top like on longhorn, i think you used that on longhorn transformation pack. but i only need the shell replcement for the task pane.post-68579-1102905362.jpg

    • Can you read? I've said I'm willing to pay more for a notchless (no notch) 3:2 screen.
    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.
    • make your own notch - it's not that hard
    • VirtualBox 7.2.10 by Razvan Serea VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers. • OK, now ask yourself how are they going to enforce that law? By requiring every single adult to prove their age and provide their legal identity documents to an UNREGULATED 3rd party company that already has a long track record of multiple data breaches. Not to mention, parliament have voted AGAINST this ban, twice, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. So, where's the democracy here, because that looks like dictatorship to me. The solution here is parental responsibility, not government control. Run some public service announcements on TV and UK social media teaching parents how to setup parental controls. That's already been proven to actually work. But the, this is not and has NEVER been about keeping kids safe. It's about control and monitoring. Watching what you're doing online and controlling what you can see and what you can say.
