I think if you're gonna go 3.2GHz that you should stick to Northwood & Socket 478.

ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe

Intel Pentium 4 3.2C

1GB DDR400 (Dual Channel ( 2 x 512MB))

nVidia Geforce 6800GT AGP.

Otherwise if you must have Prescott wait for E0.

Is this the motherboard you're talking about  Steven?

No, that's a VIA chipset based board, which suck for P4's. Intel's chipsets are the only real way to go.

That's the only board that TigerDirect has, but the board Steven was referring to is the P4C800, which uses the Inlel 875 chipset. The 875's are the premium hand-picked ones. The 865's are largely reject 875 chips, if I recall correctly. Either board should OC exceptionally well. Couple that with some high quality PC3200 DDR and a BFG Tech 6800 GT OC, and you'll be flying.

Ok.. thanks..

I already have this motehrboard, http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware...iews/msignbmax/

i would like to upgrade this machine too, upgrading with some memory, but im a little confused about which memory buy i have seen this:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...sp?EdpNo=637686 but im not sure if this memory works fine with the motherboard. Im running this with a P4 2.4GHZ processor.

Thanks again

OK You're wrong. Thanks for giving him more bull****.

The P4P800E is NOT A VIA chipset, its an Intel one.

It was an honest mistake. Just because you're Neowin's top poster doesn't mean you have the right to be an ###### about it.
