Easiest game to make maps for?

I am assuming it's Unreal Tournament/UT200X but I don't really know...

Duke Nukem 3D maps were pretty easy to make.

Map making these days can be quite difficult, I remember trying to make a good CS map a long time ago and the testing and work took 2 months.

More modern games will be even more difficult, though making maps for BF series might be easier due to simplicity.

i found that doom3 mapping is pretty easy :)

didnt tried hl2 stuff yet.

If you have experience with Half Life, then give the source engine a go.

CS mapping is quite easy to get into, there are plenty of helpful sites out there. This site helped me quite a lot.

I'd say CS, but that's only because it's the only one I've tried. It wasn't easy to make anything really good (not that I did :blush: ) but it's pretty easy to get started

I have always been meaning to give map making a try as well, but never seem to have the time to give it proper go.

I downloaded the Source SDK so maybe this weekend.....

Quake III, seems a lil outdated but damn good engine and the more silicon you throw at it the faster it runs. Use gmax for this engine, Discreet makes it jus google :D

I'd say UT2004, but then again I have over 4 years experience with the Unreal engine :shifty:

I'd imagine they are pretty much the same, just read the tutorials and put in the effort :)

if you like something that is less confusing in the beginning hit up the hammer editor for half-life 2 and its mods. simple to learn, easy to edit things, clean UI. All around easy to use :)

The BUILD engine kicked ass. I remember all the custom maps I used to make with it all the time. Ahh, the numberic pad enter key to toggle between "game-mode" and "2d-mode" :happy:

ive rencently tried map making on AvP2

that was my first time map making and i made a decent job of it (if i do say so myself)

but it was damn hard,

are other games easier

p.s took me a month start to final product

Starcraft harder but i know how to do it pretty well
