That's where I point everyone to who asks me how to convert mov:happy:ppy:

I had my PSP in work today hooked up to my speakers listening to some music, I had it stolen away from me whilst the production manager played Lumines and one of the Engineers was watching all the Razorlight Live I'd dumped off there from my Sky+ :rofl:ofl: I'm gonna have to do a better job of concealing:Dt :D

Everyone knows the DS isn't in the same league as the PSP graphically. So you are an ass.

i thought they were. i mean, theyre being released at the same time and they are competing. -_____-" whattt. so nintendo is trying to win purely with the duel and touch screen? okkk. but take a look at nintendog. the graphics potential is there.

Awesome find! (Y)

PSP aimed at 18 +

DS aimed at youngsters so 18 -

every one knows this :)

585269989[/snapback]

Actually DS was aimed at the older croud but we all know how thats going to turn out with Nintendo :p

Nintendo: "Think of the children! Oh why won't someone think of the children!"

It's been a busy day for PSP hackers, as a great deal of progress has been made in deciphering the groups of servers the handheld uses as it connects to the outside world. Among the discoveries posted on one random Geocities site that will probably be down by the time you click on it: an "update image" (about 14.5mb zipped) found on a site named dj02.psp.update.playstation.org.

This update image, as it turns out, is a PSP executable and boots up as a "game" if you transfer it over the PSP via memory stick. This update has a full install procedure and everything, although the EULA attached makes mention of the PS2 hard drive and the update itself crashes the PSP's internal software. Most interesting, though, are the new features this update promises in the install program:

Voice text reading

SonicStage music/news transfer (SonicStage being an iTunes-type program from Sony)

Calculator

Voice chat

Three PSP internal games

PSP mail software

PSP word processor/spreadsheet software

PSP web browser

PSP scheduling software

Bugfixes

The update file is off the playstation.org site now, but mirrors are available here and there.

The "word processor/spreadsheet" bit sounds like a bit of placeholder humor to me, so I imagine this is probably a test file of some sort. Still, it's important to have something to dream about, isn't it?

Full story

Photos and video

Nice

also i found some info on the cpu specs etc.. The host CPU block will also contain a security sub-block designed to protect data and help prevent hacking the PSP, its games, or the stored data.

i dont know if Dazzlas review mentioned this (or if its a known fact) (since I may have overlooked it during my excitement) BUT that little round disc underneath the Directional Pad is an analogue stick! I thought it was the speaker! Turns out there are two grooves on each side of the PSP (total 4) for the speakers.

I found that out by mistake.

First I thought the console was damaged because it was raised. WHen I checked all 4 units I bought they were all the same so I thought it was fine.

Then while playing ridge racers I swivled it and saw that I was able to control the car smoothly.

Thats great! TWO ways of controlling! (pardon the enthusiasm)

note: the above installation is obviously in Japanese, but will it work if my settings are in English. Has anyone confirmed that it actually DOES install? I mean it could be he just made fake pics and then just displayed them on the PSP.

Well...I:m sure it wouldn't matter if the stuff is in english of j since there seems to be native support in the system software itself for both, the big question is that statement that it crashes teh psp's internal software....I'd like to know more about what that means (i.e. crashes because it's overwritten, psp still reboots back up....)

also, thats a lot of software for such a short time, considering the psp doesn't run on a known os...although I could be wrong...

methinks the software over writes the firmware to a non usable state

known fact sorry.

edit: and reviews claimed that the analogue stick position is not optimally placed. can cause fatigue to the thumb if used too long? well there is certain uncomfort.

9 hour marathon on Ridge says otherwise :p

This maintenance-focused release includes bug fixes, updated translations, and a range of safe enhancements. This release fixes a Windows security issue that could allow arbitrary file deletion during privileged cleaning (reported by Zeze with TeamT5). It also adds new cleaners (including a DNS cache cleaner, Claude Code, and Visual Studio Code forks), support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles, new deep scan options for developer directories like node_modules and venv, and safer, faster file shredding. All Platforms Added cleaners for Claude Code, DNS cache, and many Visual Studio Code forks. Added support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles. Chrome can now clean downloaded AI models. Deep Scan can optionally remove venv, __pycache__, node_modules, and .angular directories. Deep Scan is faster by skipping directories on the keep list. File shredding is safer, faster, and leaves fewer recoverable traces. Improved handling of cookies, symlinks, Unicode filenames, external processes, and configuration files. Improved Expert Mode warnings and long warning dialogs. Fixed crashes related to cleaner detection, invalid Unicode, and malformed cleaner data. Clipboard is now cleared automatically after shredding files via paste operations. Linux Added AppImage support. Added cleaners for Visual Studio Code, Codeium, Librewolf (.deb), Transmission (Flatpak), and Profanity. Improved Linux trash detection, including Snap-installed applications and mounted drives. Fixed Wayland root CLI issues and several Snap-related problems. Improved package dependencies, AppStream metadata, and desktop file handling. Fixed startup crashes when Python Requests is unavailable. Windows Fixed a security vulnerability that could allow arbitrary file deletion when cleaning with elevated privileges. Added %WindowsSystem% variable support. Improved clipboard clearing using native Windows APIs. Improved installer experience on unsupported Windows versions. Reduced installer size and improved application robustness. Fixed Unicode handling, filename anonymization, Git revision reporting, and splash screen stability. • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
