[Definitive] Sony PSP Thread

Recommended Posts

The only PC UMD drives i have saw are the ones in the Sony dev units, I also doubt that sony would give the go ahead for 3rd partys to develop drives. The only thing that may be possible is the same thing as with the Gamecube, Chipping the unit or a addon that lets you rip the discs from the psp itself + you can transfer from the umd's via Wifi as thats what the Gameshare thing does in a way, So maybe someone will hack the Firmware so it rips the whole disc (for backups of course).

Anyhow just stick to buying legit as its supports developers :)

The Text2Pic thing is Homebrew, i found it a while back on some eastern site and its only a get around for viewing well anything, as long as it converts to text.

I got the demo disk from Ebay theres still some on their and theyre quite limited.

If I get a Jap. Demo UMD will it work in a USA PSP?

Games work on any region, Unless the game developer includes a region code which 99% wont (psp itself isnt region locked, the media can be), Films however will be region coded luckily the uk and jpn both share region 2 :), Im guessing though that someone will crack the region in the firmware updates so you can make your psp ignore the regions, As for the demo disc its only available from their and that was in limited numbers, i dont know whether that will be locked or not, I only have RidgeRacer im waiting for the US release to get some games, Suppose we'll know soon whether theyll work or not :), Dazzla >:| damn you, seems forever for these memory sticks

I just preordered my PSP and I can't wait! I hope I get in on the first shipment, the guy at ebgames said that I was right on the line. His boss told him to keep taking preorders tho because they are supposedly getting a very large shipment, more than most stores so that's a good sign. Ugh now I have to decide which game(s) to get. Im thinkin ATV cuz its online and MGS Acid cuz it looks pretty neat. Maybe Untold Legends? ARG!

Why not preorder from EBGames?

Because I have $225 in BestBuy cards. If I can justify spending that on something else I may preorder somewhere else, but I was planning on using them for the PSP. I don't have much time to decide!

If you work, take a sick day, if its school, skip, PSP is well worth it:laugh:h:

Mine came today and i fallen in love with it. Its a Jap made machine so it has a Sharp screen with no dead pixels just 1 spec of dust that i though was a dead pixel. I got ridge with it and been playing for ages. Tempted at importing Minna No Golf and vampire chronicle

    • Windows 11 KB5094126 BSODing, freezing, forcing BitLocker lockout, breaks OneDrive, and more by Sayan Sen Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 last week as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. While Microsoft has so far not acknowledged any major problems with the release, some users online are running into problems. These range from OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. The most common one seems to be happening with HP systems wherein affected users say they hit 0xc0430001 BSOD (blue screen of death) error code after the KB5094126 update. We wonder if this could be related to the recent bug we covered on HP devices wherein the ongoing Secure Boot certificate updates are leading to similar issues. While we are not certain, users affected by this issue likely need to ensure that the boot.stl file is included on the installation media (such as a USB installer or ISO), if the above-mentioned dynamic updates are deployed. If this file is missing, computers may fail to boot from the installation media and could display the error 0xc0430001. This STL file is used by Secure Boot to verify that the boot files are trusted, so it must match the same Windows version and system architecture. To ensure the file is included, Microsoft recommends using the Update WinPE script, which automatically updates the image and handles the required files. Alternatively, you can manually copy the boot.stl file from the Windows\Boot\EFI folder on a Windows device and place it in the matching folder on your installation media before deploying the updated image. Aside from blue screening some users also note their systems have been freezing following the update. This could be happening to Lenovo PCs specifically. In the case of the OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, a user figured out that there could be a conflict with UAC. He explained: "Okay, so I did some digging, and in our environment KB5094126 breaks OneDrive and Dropbox in Explorer. I went through all our GPOs and found out that the combination of disabling UAC and having my user being a local admin breaks OneDrive in Explorer. ... If I enable UAC again, then it works, even with KB5094126 still installed." Hopefully, Microsoft will look into these issues. • It is when it's a desktop in my house though for a PC that's lightly used and not really important when it is. If it was a laptop, it would be a different story. The real solution is varied and begins starting at post #22 in that thread.
