Install linux on USB boot device

Does anyone have a guide to installing linux on a USB boot device? I have 40GB of space to install on... I've successfully installed dos on it and booted to it, but linux doesn't seem to like it...

yeah its a little annoying that you cant search small words...

Well, you can, though Google, but you can't select it by forum (since google doesn't care about forum organization).

Try searching for "usb site:neowin.net" to limit the google search results to just Neowin. It's the best workaround that I have found...
