Just recently I bought an Enermax case, the CS-30881TA-B3A. It's a great case, but i have just one little problem with it. There's a spot in the front for a 120mm fan for the HDD's, but no vents in the front to pull the air into the case.

I was thinking of Modding the case, but then I got an idea to concast Enermax directly, but they were no help at all. So now i want to cut a vent in the front, but I'm not sure how to do it. I don't want to mess up my case, and there seems to be some room behind it for the vents, I just don't know how to do it. Any suggestions?

I have an enermax case (almost exactly like yours) with the same problem. Is there a top vent on your case? It doesn't look like it from the pictures, but it's a bit hard to tell. Mine has a top vent, a side vent and two spaces in the back for fans (as well as the useless spot in the front).

I have my fans set up like this:

Top Fan Intake

Side Fan Exhaust (CPU Fan blowing away from the CPU)

Back Fan Exhaust (only 1)

You can just leave one of the 3.5" drive bay covers off to let air come in that way. There are Hard Drive coolers I've found (after a lot of searching) like this http://www.buyextras.com/evhadrmokitt.html to fit in your 5.25" drive bay for intake or exhaust and they're cheap. Ultimately you want to pull in air through the front and out the back of the case. Chances are that any holes you put in the case around the power buttons will look unsightly unless you're really good with the tools.

For you I'd suggest installing that little guy I've linked to in the lowest front 5.25" drive bay. Optimally I'd say have the CPU fan blowing onto the heatsink, and then the window fan blowing onto that. I'd have at least one, but two would be better, blowing out of the back. Maybe one of these in the bottom PCI slot http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/se...TC-PRICEGRABBER to get air flow from top to bottom, not just side to side.

I understand that all of these things are going to be overkill. With my fan configuration (no front fans at all and only one intake, no front bay slots open) my case temp is currently 22?C, my hard drive 38?C and my CPU (Athlon XP 1700+ with stock cooling) is 47?C. This is more or less idle, and it doesn't get a whole lot hotter under stress.

Hope this helps.
