Plustek OpticPro 9630P scanner

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know how I can get my Plustek OpticPro 9630P scanner to work in WindowsXP?? The original software CD was lost...even though that wouldn't help me out. Just wondering if there is a way I could get my scanner to work with WindowsXP Professional. Thanks in advance for any help :)

I downloaded the drivers and it installed some stuff. I am able to run the "Scanner Utility" it installed. I can flip my scanner light on and off. How do I go about actually scanning pictures now? I tried to do add new scanner then "have disk" but I couldn't find any .inf files for the scanner...

The files seem to have been extracted to C:op9630p but I don't see any .inf files there :( Right after it extracted all these files there it ran some setup.exe program automatically...is there any way to monitor the files the setup.exe put out there? Maybe I could find it that way..

Any reccomendations for a program I could use with my scanner?

i believe they say that your scanner is not XP Compatible, look at that site, more information pick up the phone and givem a call! :)

I have the same scanner and have given up on it. It worked fine in 95 and 98, but I never could get it to work on 2k or XP. It's sitting in a box in my closet right now. It was pretty old anyways and the scans weren't that great. Scanners are cheaper these days, I would just buy a new one.

    • Since they open sourced the calculator in Win 10/11 it is much better and can do a lot, I love it.
    • That's just silly imo. The lengths that man goes to just to avoid W11 is just nuts. Very, very few home users would do that. I will say this though, he is committed. Btw, I note on askwoody that Woody Leonhard passed away March, 2025 aged 73. His site was one of my favorites back in the day. Belated yes but RIP Woody.
    • Because of the EU (a good thing) newer android devices been getting 5 years worth of security patches. Except some Motorola which found the loop hole, and offer ZERO updates. In addition, Google for years have been making where it can patch some stuff by updating the core Google Play Store itself.  As echoed earlier,  you take the security risk in to your own hand beyond supported.
