How to configure dial-up connection with Windows XP Professional.

Recommended Posts

I am using Windows 98SE and Windows XP Professional. I have a problem connecting to the Net with Windows XP Pro. With Win98, I have no problem, I just use the Dial-up networking wizard in Accesories->Communication folder. Accepting the default setting will do.

In WinXP Pro, I use the Network Connection Wizard to set up the dial-up. I don't see any dialup networking in the Communication folder. The Network Connection Wizard is how the XP help system tell how to connect to the net. The problem is I always get Error 678 Computer not answering. I afraid I did something wrong here because the procedures between the two operating systems differ. What I'm asking is, could you give the steps and the settings from A-Z how to connect to the Net with Windows XP Pro.
