No Registry Scan or Log Detection with /unattend?

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the reply - so I guess I'm doing something wrong then... when I run Autopatcher in unattended mode it insalls all the updates even if I've already run autopatcher on that system - the other thing I've noticed is that if I run it normally and have it only scan the registry (no log detection) it lists certain patches as still needing to be installed... even though they've been installed... any hints?

Thanks!

well, unfortunately, AutoPatcher's detection wasn't 100% accurate. This was one of the main reasons AutoPatcher 5.0 was needed. With AutoPatcher 5.0, every module (item in the tree) can specify the exact operating system it's built for (i.e XP SP1) and where (in the system registry) AutoPatcher will detect it. This way we can make much more accurate modules which will only be loaded when the running operating system (and language) matches the one specified by the module, and they AutoPatcher will be able to detect them more accurately (just as long as they comply with the module standards and specify a registry entry for their detection).
